I can’t think of a clearer example of pure Progressive logic than this example of Socialist Bernie Sanders, the wannabe candidate for President. One has only to look to North Korea and similar locales for the ultimate design. Why do we need options in deodorant choices? Cars? In that case anything? Think of all of the starving children who would be helped if only we implemented total government direction. Hats off to Bernie. He tells us what life will be like as we march down the road toward a totalitarian state. Even the Washington Post had a bit of trouble with this plan. So first we come for the pit spray, then we come for….. P.S. Bonus info. Senator Barack Obama supported Sanders in his run as an independent for Senator, dissing the Democrat candidate. Just to remind us where his heart lays. Here we go:
It’s a little bit unclear what Bernie Sanders has against the deodorant aisle. It is apparently, in the eyes of the Vermont senator seeking the Democratic nomination for president, a proxy for the ills of the American economy. Too many deodorant choices are bad, and so are too many sneakers. As Sanders told CNBC’S John Harwood, on the day he officially announced his candidacy:
If 99 percent of all the new income goes to the top 1 percent, you could triple it, it wouldn’t matter much to the average middle class person. The whole size of the economy and the GDP doesn’t matter if people continue to work longer hours for low wages and you have 45 million people living in poverty. You can’t just continue growth for the sake of growth in a world in which we are struggling with climate change and all kinds of environmental problems. All right? You don’t necessarily need a choice of 23 underarm spray deodorants or of 18 different pairs of sneakers when children are hungry in this country.
The literal implication of that last sentence is that there some kind of a national trade-off between antiperspirant/Air Jordan variety and food for children. This makes sense if you believe that the government should be allocating the resources in the economy — in this case, directing fewer of them to personal hygiene and footwear and more to child nutrition. Thank you. When I start counting the days, then weeks, when a blogger doesn’t show it means I’m concerned. I started doing that a week ago here. Thanks for the update.

Well, I got nothing new to relate. Bunkerville commented at a site he comments on often on May 26, then his last post on his site May 27th. You know he let us know when he wintered in Florida that the blog would be less frequent.
Just said a silent prayer that whatever…Bunkerville will be in the Lord’s Hands and hopefully well and back with us. No of no other contact I can make, so that’ll have to do.
Sure anybody who know more will let us know. Thanks.

Yeah, AOW, you and Mustang (looked up some old posts) and others been talking to Bunkerville a long time. I newbie of course, but felt welcome since getting here. Not newbie to the cause though, been reading and commenting here there and yonder since Windows 95. Used to even have some canned Goldwater, but lost it through the years, some active duty armed service years. I know how to do a smiley face, will see if I know the frown. If I mess up, please forgive. 😦 Just hope to eventually hear good news about Bunkerville.

Always on Watch and Petermc3, another day and half and no Bunkerville makes me apprehensive. Sure you are too. Still not jumping to conclusions. Hopeful just a mechanical problem with ISP as I’ve experienced. Then again I’ve had couple of TIA’s over the years that kept me silent for a while. Wishing for the best and have no information on this quiet time from Bunkerville.
Hoping before I click to post this he has message up for all of us.
Anyone with better info please advise. Thanks. Tom Cooper, the unit, Milton, Fl

Exactly so I hope as well. I hated to imply other possibilities, but after losing J.D. Longstreet after his last May 6, 2014 blog I can’t help but wonder. But I’ll keep thinking the best is yet to come.

Former Soviet comedian Yakov Smirnoff used to quip that the beauty of the Soviet economy was that it treated everyone the same; every body had nothing. He also said, “In America, there’s always plenty of beer and you can always find a party; in Russia, Party will always find you.”
Sanders seems brain dead to me. He wants to feed the children, but he doesn’t want their parents earning a good wage producing 18 variants of deodorant to provide for them. God save us from leftist idiocy …

Well, we not so far off his question about why need so many choices. Sometimes choices obscured . I bought a new riding lawn mower last Sunday. Unbelievable how many “choices” on the market made by the same manufacturer. But anyway I needed one for my exercise, exercise going and shopping. 🙂

It’s too bad, bunker, you missed Sanders point. He’s talking about trade, a subject in which you probably have some things in common with Sanders, as do I.

Gad! Bernie Sanders is beyond moronic with this bit of hyperbole. Or, worse yet, perhaps he doesn’t view his deodorant protest as hyperbole.
The man should serve as a caricature of Progressives. He doesn’t, of course. There are a lot of true believers in the same basic cause.
I wonder who might turn away from him were he to announces that too many iTunes choices are evil incarnate. Hmmmm?

It really does say quite about about where he stands on free market competition, doesn’t it?! Take all choices away from the people by only allowing them to buy government approved products…
If this is where he stands on an issue such as deodorant we can only imagine where he stands on the important issues.

May we assume this jerk went to college and most likely majored in politics and rhetoric? First of all product differentiation sells, secondly if the government didn’t provide cradle to grave human bondage for the lower class and fat asses who need not work thanks to the largess of the middle class, which allows them to spend $100-$200 for a pair of kicks instead of buying food- SNAP doesn’t provide enough funds when one needs ciggies, coke, beer, etc- the market which now salivates for such commodity goods turned luxury items would dry up and bring some sanity to the price of goods and services without our draconian socialist government taking more, regulating more and delivering less. As for Sanders no amount of aluminum silicate loaded under arm deodorant could kill his stench.
P.S. as moronic as this comment reads it is merely a simplistic overview of today’s pervading untold hardships and financial misery and chaos created by our gov’t ever evolving into a socialist master.
