Trade deal moves forward. Support Elizabeth Warren in stopping this bill

In the most unreported story, the trade bill moves forward. Did I ever think I would be aligned with Liz Warren? The Senators were forced to view the bill in a “secret room” without pen or pencil to take notes, forbidden to talk about the bill. No Senator read or has a clue what is in the bill. I understand Orin Hatch was behind the push to pass the bill. The bill gives more power to the Presidents now and in the future. The TPP, which is near completion after more than five years of negotiations, would create a free trade zone covering 40 percent of the world economy. Trading partners have said they want to see fast-track enacted before finalizing the pact, a goal the administration has set for this year.

“Our nation’s economic health and prestige are on the line today,” said Sen. Orrin G. Hatch, Utah Republican and chairman of the Finance Committee, who led the floor debate on passing the bill known as Trade Promotion Authority. The bill would allow Mr. Obama to conclude trade deals he has been trying to

In a victory for President Barack Obama, the Senate passed bipartisan legislation Friday night to strengthen the administration’s hand in global trade talks, clearing the way for a highly unpredictable summer showdown in the House.

The vote was 62-37 on the bill, which would let Obama complete trade deals that Congress could approve or reject, but not change. A total of 48 Republicans supported the bill, but only 14 the Senate’s 44 Democrats backed a president of their own party on legislation near the top of his second-term agenda.

Senate passage of the trade bill capped two weeks of tense votes and near-death experiences for legislation the administration hopes will help complete an agreement with Japan and 10 other countries in the Pacific region.

It heartens me to see concerns about trade coming from the right, but unfortunately, the way things are, the way money flows into our politics, the way ethics are simply ignored by the sycophants of the wealthy and powerful, there’s no stopping the whoring of every last American dollar.

The powers that was and still be will sacrifice a popular president to pass a global trade pact. And republicans all for it, and popular incumbent will slit his own throat to please the was and still be. Perot allowed to make issue of NAFTA because H.W. couldn’t pull it over the bump in the road. 0therwise Perot’s issue would have been Dial Soap banned from adding hexaclorophrene, and what you gonna do about it folks?
The was and still be needed a democrat then to pull domo’s over and still do. Even easier now.
I don’t know where you can Google what I said. I just saw and belived my lying eyes. 🙂
