NYC Judge orders transit to post ‘Killing Jews is worship…’

It is as if common sense has departed even those who are supposed to display some degree of intelligence. All of this under the umbrella of diversity and acceptance. Want to support the notion of killing Jews? No problem. Christians next. I wonder how killing a Muslim would fly?

Here we go:

NEW YORK (Reuters) – A federal judge on Tuesday ordered New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority to display on its buses a controversial ad that refers to Muslims killing Jews, rejecting the argument that the ad could incite terrorism or imminent violence.

U.S. District Judge John Koeltl in Manhattan said the ad from the American Freedom Defense Initiative, which had previously run in Chicago and San Francisco, was protected speech under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

The ad portrays a menacing man wearing a scarf around his head and face, includes a quotation “Killing Jews is Worship that draws us close to Allah” attributed to “Hamas MTV,” and then states, “That’s His Jihad. What’s yours?”

Koeltl said he was “sensitive” to the security concerns, but noted that the MTA and Chairman Thomas Prendergast “underestimate the tolerant quality of New Yorkers and overestimate the potential impact of these fleeting advertisements. It strains credulity to believe that New Yorkers would be incited to violence by ads that did not incite residents of Chicago and San Francisco.”

Just read this on bizpacreview Pro-Israel group wins court fight over ‘Killing Jews is Worship’ ads

“A pro-Israel group won a New York court fight to display a controversial ad on New York public transit that blasts Islamists’ attitudes toward the Jewish state.

When the Houston-based pro-Israel organization, the American Freedom Defense Initiative submitted the ad, the New York Metropolitan Transit Authority, or MTA, balked, citing public safety concerns. It claimed the ad could incite violence against Jews.

U.S. District Judge John Koeltl disagreed, and said the ad should be allowed to run on scores of the city’s buses and subway cars.

The MTA officials “underestimate the tolerant quality of New Yorkers and overestimate the potential impact of these fleeting advertisements,” he said in his decision.

“Moreover, there is no evidence that seeing one of these advertisements on the back of a bus would be sufficient to trigger a violent reaction. Therefore, these ads — offensive as they may be — are still entitled to First Amendment protection.”

Following the decision, Pamela Geller, co-founder and president of the American Freedom Defense Initiative, tweeted sweet victory.

The “My Jihad” ad parodies an ad that the Council on American Islamic Relations ran a few years ago, which stated, “#MyJihad is to build friendships across the aisle. What’s yours?”

The judge noted that the defendant — the MTA — admitted that the ad was intended as a parody to the CAIR ad campaign.”

Guess I misunderstood the point of the ad. Oops.

In a more sane world, I would think such a message could be allowed only to emphasize how crazy and intolerant such Muslim beliefs are, and encourage sane Americans to view them as a huge problem to be reckoned with. But in the Manhattan Commune, I just assume liberal insanity.

I hope such “worshippers” eventually realize what false god has been misleading them.

How ’bout it’s not about inciting violence, it’s just wrong to advocate breaking the law, especially murdering people!!! Beyond my comprehension. Would a NAMBLA advertisement for man-boy love be as acceptable??? Blows my mind, just blows my freaking mind.

Their poster message instead should have been “Thou Shalt Not Kill”

I wonder if the judge would have approved that poster? I seem to remember a previous ruling that the Ten Commandments could not lawfully be displayed in a southern statehouse courtyard?

You make a good point. We cannot have any form of Christian comment, but those that wish us harm, no problem. Thanks for stopping by, stop by again.

Actually, the Ten Commandments were of Jewish origin of which Christianity later came about. I would tend to amend your comment from “Christianity” to read “any other religious belief other than Islam is taboo in the USA.”

Maybe a 747 flown into the courtroom of this pig bastard might change his mind while on his way to the level of hell reserved him and for all those of his ilk. Just as the mantra of the Jews after the genocide of WW II , ‘Never forget” has been made a mockery of by the liberals of their faith, 13 1/2 short years later how many Americans even remember 9/11 with the help of the whole of the left? How sad…

The rate we are going 9/11 will seem puny in comparison to what they will attempt next. The seeds are being planted, we are willingly going to the slaughter. A special place in hell for all of his ilk.
