The other America. Self sufficient. Beautifully filmed video in the Northwest Territories.
“Don’t confuse me with being anything else other than proud. Proud to be a hunter. It’s time we stop apologizing for how we get our protein. This is who we are. Unless you’re a small time rancher, small time farmer, a hunter or fishermen… you really have no idea where your food comes from. Most people don’t even think about it. Well, we think about it. ” – Donnie Vincent.
If you’re like me and hunting is part of who you are, share this video and hopefully we can get some people thinking differently about how they acquire their food and maybe, just maybe… we’ll change their opinion about hunting.

I’m confused. I was under the impression that all food whether protein or veggie was a product of government largess.

My bad. Silly me. Of course we must pay for all kinds of permits and licenses to enter “Government” land, so in the end, they let me know how much and what I can have.

I don’t really understand it, but then I’m not exactly a “country” kind of guy.

Well, when the food stores run out it will be amazing what one is willing to do.

I figured that the cell phone would be the way to deal with it. Water, water, water. Always carry a way to filter pure water. One can last for days with water. (And a few other nice things)! Good one A.

I have nothing against hunting even though I’m one of those people who doesn’t want to have a personal relationship with my food before I eat it. Everyone around here hunts and I applaud them feeding their families in such a manner.

Man does live on veggies alone. A rarely cooked T-bone or rib steak is a necessity.
Hubby will have to clean the fish. When I was a wee little girl my dad was going to teach me clean fish. My mom called me aside and said, “You do not want to learn how to clean fish.” I asked her why and she said, “Because then you’ll have to do it.” Wise women.

A day out in the wilderness is precious and worth facing the fish for myself!
