Ebola expert: ‘We owe Liberia because of American slavery

I couldn’t  let this one go by. So now we need to let all of Liberia here because it’s payback for all we have done in the past. Two posts today.

“I mean, we in America, how dare we turn our backs on Liberia given the fact that this is a country that was founded in the 1820s, 1830s because of American slavery.”

On Anderson Cooper 360 Thursday, Ebola expert David Quammen argued that America had a “responsibility” to allow people from Liberia to fly into the country because of the legacy of American slavery.

Quammen, author of Ebola and Spillover, has been making the rounds on news outlets over the last few weeks as an expert on the history of Ebola. Thursday, Quammen offered Cooper his opinion on the proper American response to the epidemic:

Quammen: You can’t isolate neighborhoods, you can’t isolate nations. It doesn’t work. And people talk about, “Well, we shouldn’t allow any flights from Liberia.” I mean, we in America, how dare we turn our backs on Liberia given the fact that this is a country that was founded in the 1820s, 1830s because of American slavery. We have a responsibility to stay connected to them and help them see this through.

If we stop all flights FROM the affected countries How is that turning our backs on them. Seems to me we are sending lots of help which puts Americans at risk. Key word here “FROM”.
What the heck happened to the real American with common sense?

These traitors are channeling Howard Zinn! We must be punished, you know.

I tell you, my blood is boiling every day now over several stories in the news.

Now, America isn’t the country I grew up in.

So, what about the Turks who took slaves from Northern Europe and Africa and sold them to Dutch and Portuguese slave traders. What was their responsibility? What about the African tribes that took prisoners from other tribes and sold them to the Turks and the other slave traders.? How far back does this fool want go?

I just read about this before I came here and my first thought was that it was only a matter of time before the race card was thrown out on the Ebola issue. Predictable…

So when does this asshole pack up his family and move back to the great mother civilization of us all whose technology we stole over these past centuries? A place where he can lobby and demonstrate for American citizenship for all his bro’s left behind when the slave ships ran out of room 300 years ago? Just another America hating liberal rat fink who wants to bring the whole world in. I have to speculate that he likes A/C, refrigerators, electric lights and toilets that not only flush but allow you to put your fecal stained toilet tissue in the bowl instead of dropping it on the floor so as not to cause a backup in the rotten rusted pipes. Maybe we should shuttle the whole dark continent over here, we move there, Africa becomes a technological garden of Eden and the American continent becomes a shit hole where Obola, Jerry Brown, the Kennedys, Bob Beckel , Juan Williams, et al can live the good life.

They would have us live as savages? Yes, of course. Amazing, Mexico, Africa still remain for the most part in the stone age poverty poor. And they all want to come here, and once we give all of ours away, no one with have anything. Another great comment Peter.

Screw that guy. Nobody in my family history owned slaves or participated in the enslavement of human beings. I owe Liberia precisely nothing and my children do not deserve to be exposed to infectious deadly disease because somebody else’s ancestors did bad things to other people’s ancestors. Pardon my language, but fuck that noise.
