Here is the vote as we go down the rabbit hole. What is the end game and how will we get there? Today I posted the same video with Bob Corker at the hearing with John Kerry, so two posts today. Please, do listen to it, and write your Senator. Kerry states that the “Free Syrian Army” has ISIS on their heels. There is no plan. Period.

In a vote that eschewed traditional Washington divisions in favor of novel ones, the House approved a bill that authorized the training and arming of Syrian rebels in their fight against the so-called Islamic State.

The final tally was 273-to-156. But many members of both parties broke ranks with their leaders — Reps. John Boehner and Nancy Pelosi — who strongly backed the measure.

According to a count by NBC News’ Frank Thorp, 114 Democrats voted in favor of the measure; 85 voted no. Republicans broke down similarly voting 159-to-71.

The history of the Middle East is one of tribes competing with others to achieve suzerainty within a region. It could be an isolated well, or a good-sized oasis … or even a country. It does not matter. If a tribe can convince another tribe to attack a common enemy, it will do that. The enemy of my enemy, as it were, and then when that contest has been finally settled, the tribe that asked for help will attack the tribe that previously befriended them. This is the way of the Saracens.

It is in this context that I reject the notion among politicians, who seem not to understand as much as they think they know: arming Syrian rebels will not help us to achieve American interests in the Middle East. That is, if anyone at all inside the beltway know what our interests are. I have not heard any enunciation of these interests, and I suspect that I know the reason for this. Nevertheless, suppose the rebels we armed “win.” Fat chance of that happening, but that is just my opinion. At what point in the future will these same “friends of McCain” turn American weapons upon American soldiers and Marines? Arming terrorists is pure foolishness, but the price of electing fools to serve in Washington.

I agree with you. This essentially was how so called “Primitive man” existed. We like to think we have evolved. As Westerners we have covered ourselves in a veneer of what we think is enlightenment. It is still survival of the fittest. These folks are particularly savage.

Amen to that. My grandson is now five months so there is a chance he could be drafted since Obama and Kerry have told us this will be a long drawn out war; but against who if not Islam ?

How disheartening but expected that these house members for whatever political motivation and expediency willingly bought into Kerry’s lies and deception and ignored the truth as exposed by Bob Korker. Boner and Pelosi are two peas in a pod. Just the fact that Boner is still speaker illustrates how unserious the republicans are. This congress has left the people dazed and confused. We no longer knows who stands for what especially as regards this ISIS crises. In the Chines alphabet the word for crisis is composed of two characters, danger and opportunity. Obama/Kerry is the danger and the opportunity is for Obama to put the finishing touches on his Arab Spring with the help of his ISIS allies.

This is the beginning of the end. Right you are, The GOP stands for nothing. A small mater, but they did not post the votes until this morning. In the past, they were always up about an hour after the vote previously not matter when it took place. There was almost nothing last night on it, but found something on NPR.
