Here is wishing everyone a great Labor Day. Hope your day is filled with pleasure and happiness with friends and family. Always important to keep a perspective on our lives and that which does bring us joy.
I chose the song “Money” by Pink Floyd. It brings to mind the early days of my working career when $5 Bucks an hour sounded pretty good!

Unlike old man Jim I have two original copies of The Dark Side of The Moon album. I was living like a king on $140.00 p/wk in 1973 when the album came out. Those times really were part of the “good old days” even with Nixon’s wage and price controls, gasoline shortages, the Russian Wheat Deal, the US taken off the gold standard, the emergence of the EPA, reverse discrimination , school busing and unbeknownst to the country a peanut farmer from Georgia waiting in the wings to really screw up everything. And yet all that pales in comparison to what the traitor in the White House has wrought upon America these during these past five and a half years and what he has in store for us before the next socialist pig Hillary takes the lead in the never ending plot to destroy this once great nation. Happy Labor Day…

Thanks for the memory. Yep, making $5 bucks was living good. At least at that point in my life. My rent was less than now to rent a space for my car.

Have a great day, Bunker. It pains me to tell you that I have no idea who Pink Floyd is. I do know who Buddy Holly was though.

Fire, I’m with you. Disqus alerted me a fellow was following me so I looked him up. It led me to a blog of 50+ year old Van Halen lovers. I wouldn’t know Van Halen from Van Heflin. In fact I know more about Heflin. 🙂

I caught them as I wandered through college. Buddy Holly was back a few years earlier for a memory!
