Obama considers flying ‘refugees’ straight from Honduras to avoid rough trip

That is right, I took this straight from Weasel Zippers because, well I am speechless this morning and I just can’t get past this one and how could I find anything more jarring. No joke indeed. Let me add that McCain manages to make the print in the story with his acute acumen by  the quote “Under Senator McCain’s proposal, refugee applicants would be processed at home, and child migrants arriving in the United States illegally could be deported quickly”. Sure, you betcha. Yes, and let’s let the U.N. decide where and from whence they come.

“It’s a way to help folks avoid life-threatening escapes and journeys,” Ms. Blake said. “It’s a good idea. It’s a tested idea.”No Joke: Obama Considering Flying Immigrants From Honduras Straight To The U.S. So They Don’t Have To Sneak Over Border…

Via NY Times:

Stacie Blake, the director of government relations for the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, an advocacy group, said the processing of potential refugees in Central America could be handled by the United States or by the United Nations, which makes refugee determinations in many other countries.

Hoping to stem the recent surge of migrants at the Southwest border, the Obama administration is considering whether to allow hundreds of minors and young adults from Honduras into the United States without making the dangerous trek through Mexico, according to a draft of the proposal.

If approved, the plan would direct the government to screen thousands of children and youths in Honduras to see if they can enter the United States as refugees or on emergency humanitarian grounds. It would be the first American refugee effort in a nation reachable by land to the United States, the White House said, putting the violence in Honduras on the level of humanitarian emergencies in Haiti and Vietnam, where such programs have been conducted in the past amid war and major crises.

Critics of the plan were quick to pounce, saying it appeared to redefine the legal definition of a refugee and would only increase the flow of migration to the United States. Administration officials said they believed the plan could be enacted through executive action, without congressional approval, as long as it did not increase the total number of refugees coming into the country.

By moving decisions on refugee claims to Honduras, the plan aims to slow the rush of minors crossing into the United States illegally from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala, which has overwhelmed the border this year. More than 45,000 unaccompanied minors from those three nations have arrived since Oct. 1, straining federal resources to the point that some agencies will exhaust their budgets by next month, the secretary of Homeland Security has said.

With the criminal indictment of Governor Rick Perry, I am outraged on the continuing criminal intents of the Obama administration across the nation. It is my individual prayer and fervent hope that from this indictment a backlash will take place against the Democratic Party in both houses in the forecoming elections of November 2014. Hopefully with such a backlash with the Republicans controlling both houses a successful impeachment process will be launched against Obama (He is not worthy of being called “Our President”) for his “High Criminal Crimes” against the United States.

This marks a stark reversal of U.S. immigration policy that has been in existence for more than 100 years. When the U.S. began to officiate immigration, they allowed everyone to come to the United States and their status was determined here. This quickly overwhelmed the operation and it was determined that the decision would be made overseas before the potential immigrant traveled to the United States. By circumventing that system, Obama will skyrocket costs, overflow holding facilities, and inundate communities already bursting with illegals.

The costs of which will be titanic. Illegals consume services, but they do not contribute more than they consume resulting in a net loss. This is why sanctuary cities are in perpetual budget trouble and some have even gone into bankruptcy. Public schools and public housing is overrun, public health issues such as bed bugs and drug resistant TB are imported with illegal populations. But when has the left given a rat’s furry hind end about the public?

Their true objective is to import as many of these children as possible in order to increase their base. There is no question that there is a political calculus at work here and not a humanitarian one. They seek to ram amnesty down the public’s throat as they did Obamacare and when they do, they will be sitting pretty. In my opinion, that is nothing more than base treason because they seek to subvert the nation and override the electorate’s will. In short, they betray both the public and our nations’ founding values.

The Barbarians have entered our gates and it took no trojan horse. This will finish the cities. Thanks for your good comments, I always appreciate them.
Meanwhile I read that they are planning on mixing them in with middle class communities.New Obama rule could force cities to house illegals
The Obama administration, in July 2013, quietly introduced a new regulation that critics say will dramatically increase Washington’s power over local zoning laws in every city and town that accepts federal block grants through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
And it’s the federal grants that could be used as a hook in the nose of these cities, forcing them to house illegal immigrants against their will.

Some are calling it the “Common Core of local zoning” that has flown under the radar for nearly a year. Instead of the U.S. Department of Education dictating education standards to local school districts, this rule change would allow HUD to influence zoning laws from the biggest cities down to the tiniest towns.

The proposed rule, which is set to take effect in October, would put teeth on the Fair Housing Act of 1968 by providing a set of standards, guidelines and goals, then use data to “measure” and “assess” how well a local community is meeting its Fair Housing obligations.

The reason the refugees are crossing into the USA is because they can get here by land. They aren’t exactly going to swim to freedom. Since we are going to put them on a plane, let’s spread the wealth and fly them to several different countries. Let the U.N. hash that one out.

I often read the NYT comments and use it as a barometer of the left. I read the comments, but I pay particular attention to the ‘readers picks’ and ‘NYT Picks.’ Usually, it is an orgy of self-congratulation and a wallow in self-reinforcing liberal group-think, but the tide has completely turned on this border crisis.

Go read the comments. Even ‘good liberals’ are fed up. Much of it can be chalked up to their natural malthusian streak, but many also mention how much poverty and gang violence we already have in our cities.

Based on this limited metric, I’d say Obama really is in trouble and there will be a tipping point. I cannot believe how many NYT commenters sound conservative on this issue, and how many of their fellow readers vote up their comments.

      Great find, BTW!

Great comment – ‘without the practice of “moral restraint” the population tends to increase at a greater rate than its means of subsistence, resulting in the population checks of war, famine, and epidemic.’ Pin the tail on the donkey.
Consider though Manchurian McCain – whomever(s) promoted him to run for Prez back in ’08, pigeonholed him as the same mindset for this sort of thing. Who says we have a choice in Candidates? Those who voted for McCain were really voting for Palin. Those behind the curtain couldn’t allow for McCain to win, get bumped off and have Palin as Prez … and Ted Nugent fill in as her Vice. Now that’s a nice pictures! Lock & Load …
        Thanks Bunker.
