Recall quarantined TB Patient in 2007? TB rampant in ‘refugee children’

Am I the only one who recalls the white knuckle story back in 2007 when a man from Atlanta with drug-resistant TB flew to Europe to be married? Everyone was sweating bullets that the contagion would spread into our country when he came back. Now we hear that there are confirmed cases brought in by the so-called “Refugee children” with this virulent form. Fox reported that it will cost up to $300,000 to treat each case of the resistant type. Where is the worry and concern? Is that why no one is allowed to visit the centers? First a memory from 2007.

Quarantined TB patient: ‘I hope they forgive me’ June, 2007

DENVER — While authorities try to determine how an Atlanta lawyer was able to avoid detection while traveling to Europe with a highly drug-resistant form of tuberculosis, the man apologized to his fellow plane passengers in an interview broadcast Friday. Speaker is expected to remain in the hospital in isolation and taking multiple antibiotics for two to six months, at a cost of up to $350,000.

Speaker said he, his doctors and the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention all knew he had TB before he flew to Europe for his wedding and honeymoon last month. But he said he was advised that he wasn’t contagious or a danger to anyone. Officials said they would rather he didn’t fly but no one  ordered him not to, he said. ILLEGALS BRINGING DRUG-RESISTANT TB TO U.S. March, 2013

Once-defeated disease now surging, lethal for 60 percent of those infected

A member of Congress who for more than 30 years worked as a doctor says the baggage that illegal aliens are bringing into the United States now is killing people.

Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Texas, told WND that it’s not suitcases, clothes or the like – it’s the highly infectious cases of drug-resistant and lethal tuberculosis that are walking across the Mexican border.

Now the latest report:

Report: Illegal Immigrant Children Have Lice So Bad ‘They Can Be Seen Crawling Down’ Their Faces (Video)

Todd Starnes told Sean Hannity on FOX News tonight that the illegal immigrant children held at Lackland Air Force base in Oklahoma are bringing diseases into America. The children have tuberculosis, scabies and lice so bad you can see them running down their faces.

“It’s one giant emergency room. They tell me tuberculosis has become a very dangerous issue there. Nurses say the number of children representing symptoms of tuberculosis is ‘simply staggering.’ Spitting up blood, chest pains, constant coughing. There are at least three confirmed cases for the illegals in Austin, Texas… The federal government is covering up the threat of the health crisis. They say the kids have scabies. They also say they have chicken pox. And lice so severe they can be seen crawling down the faces of the children.“

Thank you, Barack Obama

The left says that we have a humanitarian crisis, and on that I agree. However, we also have the concomitant problem of a threat to the public health combined with government threats and intimidation. When government security calls itself “Brown Shirts” and declares that anyone who spills the beans on the numerous diseases brought into the country by these children will pay dearly, that is blatant fascism. And why would we be surprised? Fascism was invented and perfected by the left.

As Americans, we have a duty to help these children. We do not, however, have a duty to make them American citizens. We should feed and house them, we should provide medical treatment, and we should insure their safety and welfare. We should see that they are educated appropriate to their age. But we should also send them back to their parents once they have been cured or stabilized by medical staff. We should then send a bill to their home nations for services rendered or deduct that amount from the aid provided.

The White House caused this human catastrophe, and it is solely responsible for the crises on the border and the expenditure of taxpayer dollars on these children. Worse, border states are forced to take on a huge and unexpected financial burden for our border being overrun by illegals. Where is the fence that had been funded time and again? Where are the Border Patrol agents? Why hasn’t the National Guard been mobilized to stop the hemorrhage of foreigners crossing illegally into the United States?

If anything, this crisis underscores the inability of the left to lead or to manage at best, and at worst it is a conspiracy to subvert the laws of the United States. If the second, the left may find that they are breaking apart the voters that typically vote with them. The recent show down between one California town and ICE proves that their base is divided on this issue. If Californians are sick of these immigration shenanigans, then what does that say about middle America?

Time and again I have witnessed the left paint themselves into a corner and this is no different. They will spend billions of taxpayer dollars on their foolishness, they will embarrass themselves, and they will pervert the systems of government for fun and profit. That is what they do. But while they run rampant with the machinery of government, there is a human cost, and currently they are forcing the children being held to pay the price for their lunacy.

Another well thought out comment and thanks for taking the time. Meanwhile our Commander choses to ignore this issue that will insure the destruction of our country if not resolved. Yes, take care of them, then fix whatever law needs to be fixed then send them home. In the meantime, tell Mexico to shut its southern border. It has for everyone else that wishes to come to Mexico. No NAFTA, no money period until they do.

Jersey McJones, your comments are, again, ridiculous. Appeal to emotion and dismiss the facts.

No. My first concern is for my fellow citizens. Which should also be the first concern of our government. The government DOES EXIST for the benefit of the People, doncha know – not for the benefit of invaders from other countries.

Now that you mention it I do remember that story, but I had forgotten. There is no doubt in my mind that people are not being allowed to visit these centers is to hide how bad the cases of infectious diseases are. Barack Obama and the Democrats are more than willing to risk the health of Americans to push this agenda and I find it disgusting!

I just posted a little bit on this, too. IMAGINE them advising docs and nurses not to disclose the truth or they will be arrested? Bunk, is this AMERICA ANYMORE? We are PAYING to give OUR KIDS TB??? And we’d finally conquered TB! Oh, man…this feels like the worst in the string of assaults to our intelligence over the last 5 years.
