So there was no congratulation message to Dave Brat from Boehner, just a comment about losing his bud Eric Cantor. If Brat is successful this fall, does anyone think he will get a plum Committee assignment? Boehner removed several Tea Party members from Committees because they wouldn’t go along with his agenda. He has threatened if anyone threatens him with losing his leadership role next year, that too will be their fate.
Recall the mocking of the Tea Party? Too bad we couldn’t send Boehner on his way.
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) drew sharp criticism Friday for poking fun at Republicans who oppose recent efforts to tackle immigration reform.
“Here’s the attitude. Ohhhh! Don’t make me do this. Ohhhh! This is too hard,” Boehner said theatrically, wincing and pulling a funny face during a speech Thursday at the Middletown Rotary Club in Ohio.Here is a refresher Mr. Boehner.
“Boehner doesn’t seem very concerned about trying to win over Republican detractors who are aiming to unseat him,” the report said. “Since October, when conservatives forced an unpopular partial shutdown of the federal government, he’s stopped disguising his disdain for Tea Party groups and their tactics, calculating that enough other Republicans are fed up, too.”

If Boehner does manage to hold on to his Speakership, which I doubt, there is no doubt he will shun Brat simply for having the gall to run against the establishment. All we can hope for is for his replacement to care more about doing the peoples’ business rather than the establisment’s.

We will see who will replace Cantor to give us an idea. I would say the House members especially are quaking in their boots at this point. The good ole boy network got hit hard. Just about as good as when Scott Brown snagged Kennedy’s seat.

This is not a victory against Eric Cantor. It is a victory against the RINO mentality. Reagan and Goldwater espoused a philosophy that stood on it’s own merits. In fact, it was Reagan’s eloquence that taught us to engage our rivals in the arena of ideas in the first place, and it was there that the American people responded. We do not advocate arcane ideas that require one to traverse an elaborate maze in order to reach our truth. All one has to do is use common sense.
The left realizes this and they don’t even bother to debate the merits of their ideas. They engage in ad hominem, they lie, they use window dressing to cover the bare bones of their approach. They use identity politics to separate and divide. They use the politics of personal destruction to finish their foes and they eat their own, as evidenced by their treatment of painting Joe Lieberman in black face. That is who and what they are and they will never change.
Where the Republican Party has failed is in following our vacuous foes and their methods. You may do a deal with the devil, but it is a certainty that the deal favors him. Eric Cantor and company stopped communicating with the people and concentrated on creating a bigger tent, whatever that means. Our political philosophy is rooted in the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. It is rooted in the Federalist Papers. It has been argued by Madison, Washington, Jefferson, and other luminaries. Those arguments have withstood the test of time and intellectual inquiry. How much bigger of a tent do you need?
Our political ideology freed the slaves of the Democrats. Eisenhower tried to give blacks the Civil Rights act in the 1950’s, but was blocked by Johnson and the Democrats. It was the Democrats that created the National Recovery Agency (NRA) that the blacks of the time labeled the Negro Run Around. What we have never done is to have purchased the votes of our adherents. We know that by doing so we do not free men, but instead fasten the yoke of servitude more strongly about their necks. The purchase of a man’s vote with free government goodies wastes taxpayer dollars, ensconces a people in subservience, and denies them hope for the future because it weakens them. That is the way of the left, not conservatives.
We must argue for conservatism as we have always done. By knowing it for what it is and for supporting the noble ideas that enshroud it we can make our case. The United States of America is the land of the free and the home of the brave. It is our homeland that offers hope to the world when men of conscience steer the ship of state. Americans have always supported freedom wherever we have found it. We have stood with the West and defended the oppressed of the world. We have a right to feel pride in that and it is that pride that underscores our American exceptionalism.
Eric Cantor and Boehner have forgotten our past. Many of our fellows have forgotten their past. As the attacks against the Tea Party have worsened, good men have stood by idle and hoped not to get caught in the flak. We need to stop standing idle and return to our roots. We need to defend those who share our beliefs, and we need to return to arguing our conservative principles on their merits. More than that, we need to return to living up to our own conservative principles. I am tired of having to select the lesser of two evils. When your choices are Karl Marx or Karl Marx, Jr. does the difference of a few degrees really matter? I submit that they do not. Let us return the Republican Party to it’s conservative roots and stand up for what we believe in. That is the path to political victory and that is the reason that David Brat won. We need to do the same.

There are plenty of voices on the Left making plenty of good arguments for their causes. There are plenty on the Right trying to make theirs. (Maybe it’s not just the way you guys present your message?) But there are plenty all around attacking one another, and to believe the Left corners that market is stupid. I mean plain ol’ retarded.
The very people attacking the Tea Party, in this very instance, were establishment Republicans, not Jane Fonda and tribe of lost Dead Heads.

Boehner has to go. I met and spoke to the (drunk) jerk for about 30 minutes once and his foul language and drunkenness were despicable.
Mcnorman is right; had the Tea Party candidates not been so numerous, Graham would be GONE. I’m actually going to see what those numbers looked like…if it’s available. How many votes did all six get against Graham’s count?

The ONLY reason that Graham got his seat back is because there were several people running against him. Had there only been one, he would have been packing his unders in a jiffy. Karl, Jeb and others who think that the public is not sick of their antics should take note. The borders are purposely porous, we have a POTUS who is mentally challenged and so much more that we have had our fill of DC politics. This man Brat said something very telling last night…”Stop pandering to politics and start looking at how to make the economy healthy again.” I agree. The sooner that we go back to working with a healthy economy, the better. Many things will fall into place if these politicians would work for the country instead of themselves.

I’ve read different things as to whether he’ll step down from being Speaker, this fall. I don’t think he will. While Cantor is now gone, but there is still Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy ( http://www.majoritywhip.gov ) & the rest of the tenured Rep’s who in back of the Speaker.
