Guess what happened to Marine deserter Wassef Ali Hassoun

For anyone who has high hopes or any hope that this fellow Bergdahl will find himself at the end of some sort of military inquiry that is an honest reflection of his actions, hope no more. We find an even worse character that is floating around out there, a deserter at the least, who is, as Michelle Malkin says is “free as a bird.” Here we go.

Ten years ago this month, U.S. Marine Wassef Ali Hassoun disappeared from Camp Fallujah in Iraq. After a five-month military investigation, he was charged with desertion and theft, brought back to Virginia’s Quantico Marine base and then transferred to North Carolina’s Camp Lejeune for trial.

Yet, a full decade later, Hassoun is as free as a bird. The accused deserter’s whereabouts are unknown. No trial ever began. No punishment ensued. And our leaders in Washington don’t seem to be doing a thing about this.

Hassoun was born in Lebanon and immigrated with his family to Utah in 1999. A few years later, he joined the Marines as an Arabic translator. On June 20, 2004, Hassoun bailed on guard duty at his base in Fallujah. He took his military-issued gun and his Muslim prayer rug. Military records obtained by the Salt Lake Tribune showed that he was “torn between military loyalty and his Muslim beliefs.”

According to the internal probe, he undermined intelligence-gathering operations by refusing to translate questions about Islam. He balked at raising his voice to suspected jihadi imams and sheiks. He openly threatened to “walk out the front gate and leave.”

If you’re not “whipped up” into Category 5 disgust, you’re not paying attention.

Hey Fred, Excellent and succinct observation about the unintended consequence if an Obummer impeachment. A tag team of the country’s dumbest politician and the world’s smartest woman would do whatever it would take to win the 2016 election.

I am so worked up over this BS that even I have had serious thoughts about an impeachment and what it could do.

OK, so lets look at the impeachment of Barack Hussein Obama realistically.

Bear with me here, I got this idea from a conversation I had recently with a wonderful U.S. Congressman, Pete Sessions, and it makes more sense than anything I have ever heard.

We can’t impeach Obama no matter what, and I am going to tell you exactly why; Hillary Clinton!

There is a Presidential line of succession if the POTUS were to be impeached and removed from office, die or become incapacitated in one form or another, and that line leads directly to Joe Biden, quite possibly the dumbest man on this planet.

The line of succession does NOT lead to a new Vice POTUS, that is an office that theoretically could remain vacant for a brief while but once we have a new POTUS, Biden, seated, he can then choose his VP, quite likely Hillary Clinton.

That choice would give her an opportunity to campaign for the next 2 years, on the taxpayers dime, access to AF-2 to take her all over the USA and give her ultimate exposure and a chance to turn many *on the fence* Dems and moderates to her camp.

That can’t be allowed to happen and THAT is the reason we really don’t want to impeach Barack Hussein Obama.

Even after that explanation some have told me that Biden would never pick Hillary and give her the opportunity to be VPOTUS because it would step on Biden’s presumed run at the Oval Office in 2016..

I totally disagree. Joe Biden will do as he is told, he will jump through hoops walk the dog, carry the water and apply massive suction when, and WHERE needed.. Even hard-core Dems aren’t stupid enough to elect Biden.

I agree Fred. No easy way to stop him unless we gain a super majority in the Senate. It will only get worse the closer to the end of his term. I cannot imagine how bad it is down your way with the flood of alien kids coming over. Yet, no one talks about it.

“about something of which you know so little?”

and how do ‘you’ discern the ‘truth’ jersey? i’m just curious.
for instance, my daily update on events is sourced from five cable channels:
abc, cnn, the bbc, al-jezeera, and ruptly.
i take in as many relevant c-span hearings as time allows and in the evening i’ll check the associated press releases along with reuters. after the ‘daily news’ is acquired i have to sort out what really transpired using common sense and logic, following the money trail, and applying my worldview with the modest experience i’ve acquired having walked this earth for the last sixty years. what I come up with i humbly consider my opinion; but even that is open to honest and robust debate.

so jersey; at the end of the day we can always learn from plato’s question to his pupil phaedrus.
    he simply inquired:
“what is good and what is not good; and do we need anyone to tell us these things?” …b

Why are you guys all up in arms about something of which you know so little?

By the way, I saw those soldiers on Megan Kelly, and they put on a shameful display. If these are the kinds of people that were in his unit, no wonder he took off. You couldn’t trust these guys to tell you the time of day.

Bergahl will most likely never face court martial although it sees as if he should. There is no way the military, especially the purged military, is ever going to foist this embarrassment on Obama. Now we might know one of the reasons for the purge.

Good point. A King cannot be questioned. Trashing the Platoon and blaming them for the desertion tells us we are getting close to revealing he wears no clothes.
