Vote tally count Lerner Contempt of Congress


Two Votes taken on Lerner: Click on Yeas or Nays in “Colored” boxes for individual votes. Minutes after the Lerner vote, the House passed a resolution asking the Department of Justice to appoint a special counsel to probe the IRS by a vote of 250-168.

House votes to hold Lerner in contempt of Congress

The House voted 231-187 for a resolution holding Lerner in contempt. All the Republicans voted yes, along with six Democrats.

Lerner’s case will now be sent to the Justice Department, which then must decide whether to essentially prosecute Lerner in the case.

House GOP leaders have said Lerner’s testimony is important to fully investigate the scandal, in which IRS agents singled out Tea Party nonprofit applications for extra scrutiny.

    Considering that Lerner is not a baton toting new black panther at a polling place, but just another white honky cracker chick, Holder may do his job.

      He just might throw her under the bus, but Obama already said there was no Smidgen of corruption, so doubt he can go back.

    Somehow I get the feeling Holder won’t so anything with this…..
    I am thinking at this point that we would be better of giving her immunity so that we can take down people above her. There is no doubt she was following orders.

      I just heard that congress can arrest her. It has been upheld twice by the supreme court, last in the 1930’s. Apparently the founders were concerned about this very thing.
