If we thought Pelosi and Reid should get the spokesperson of the year award representing the Democrats, fear not. We have our man Boehner who even exceeds them in absurdity. Want to gain support for our party? Call people jackasses. At least Nancy doesn’t go that far. As far as the bar scene, cry baby John is well-known for his tippling of the bottle. Here we go:
Every skill he needs to do his current job he learned working in his dad’s bar, House speaker John Boehner told Jay Leno on Thursday night. Chief among them: “You have to learn to deal with every jacka** that walks in the door.”
That requires the speaker, at times, to be the “big-brother figure,” at others, “the father figure” or “the dean of students or the principal.” “Some of them I have to the Gestapo,” he said.
Boehner described his job as “trying to get 218 frogs in a wheelbarrow long enough to pass a bill.” Nonetheless, he said he welcomes the diversity of his caucus and praised the Tea Barty for bringing “great energy to the political process.” (Laugh line here) More at National Review
Here is a reminder. Of course he would not be speaker for not the Tea Party.

Yeah, but he only said that when he was sober. Which isn’t often. So he probably didn’t mean it. Being sober, I mean.

When Boehner mentioned jacka**es he must have been talking about himself. He certainly acts like a jacka**.

He needs to look in the rear view mirror. What disgusting remarks.

I meant to write about this myself yesterday but didn’t get around to it. With “friends” like Boehner who needs enemies?!

Maybe with more tea party folks this fall we can rid ourselves of him.

They all have the absolutely WRONG idea of what their job is. A representative’s job is not to support the agenda of a political party. No rep should even be LISTENING to a political party. Nor should they listen to the president, other reps, lobbyists, media, people they DON’T represent. The job of a rep is to first UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION; 2nd, listen to and obey ONLY those in his district; third, vote only for NECESSARY & PROPER legislation.
Guys, NOTHING in D.C. is going to change – we won’t be ABLE to effect change – until we, the PEOPLE, start asserting OUR power over government. People don’t even KNOW how screwed up our government actually is. We can’t make corrections until we STOP electing people who think they are supposed to ‘lead’ us or ‘rule’ us. One of the first things we MUST do is take back the power political parties have stolen from the People.
Representatives are OUR voice in Congress, they are our agents. We are NOT supposed to elect them based on THEIR views or what THEY would do in office. Reps are to SET ASIDE their own opinions and do what their constituents say – even when THEY DON’T AGREE. Reps are most definitely NOT supposed to ‘toe a party line.’ Political parties are NOT supposed to be directing our Country. Our reps are NOT supposed to be working to advance the agenda of a political party.
Peeps, NOTHING is going to change until WE tell them, ‘No, you don’t represent a political party. You represent us ONLY.”
I get SO frustrated when I hear people saying ‘vote them out.’ Replacing our current reps with people who have the same WRONG idea of what their job is, WON’T DO ANY GOOD.
Sending someone to D.C. to do what WE say….radical concept, I know. Nah….that’ll never work, whose lame idea was that? 😉

Excellent comment. The Gestapo? Since when is that the way a congress is run. What happened to consensus? The idiot doesn’t even understand his roll.

Boehner’s retention of the Hose speakership speaks volumes about the corruption, greed, arrogance, apathy and indifference inherent in both parties. Unlike the democrats though, the republicans have and continue to compromise all, sellout their cause and each other.

Agree totally. How in the world did he manage to get the position? That is worth a book.
