Recall the days of Barry Goldwater?

Anyone out there remember Barry Goldwater and his Presidential race? Oh, how he was mocked, and a sleazy T.V. ad, some other wrong turns gave us Lyndon Johnson and his Great Society. “None dare call it Treason” was the “in” book to read for those of Barry’s persuasion. I thought myself lucky enough to be in the Senate Gallery at the time of a roll call, and there was Barry, my family’s hero, many years after his Presidential race. Later I met him in the hallway. Yes, the great unwashed could still mix with the elites in those days. I think it was the Chad Mitchell Trio who first sang “Barry’s Boy’s.” But this rendition will do for a Sunday respite.
