Jason Whitlock: “The NRA Is The New KKK” -Video

Of course we would expect the media to come out and make a full frontal assault on our guns now wouldn’t we, after Sunday’s sports extravaganza. It turns out Mr. Whitlock would just as well do away with football. Never mind that looking at the root of America’s violence in our cities might bring one to the uncomfortable facts of poor schools, the breakdown of the family structure as pivotal problems, but hey, you already know the drill so why should I repeat myself. This interview does give us a glimpse into the strategy for the next assault on the second amendment. Racism of course, that is the meme of the day.

Here we go: First the facts from over at Hot Air

Let’s first get the facts straight about firearms and handguns in the U.S. Estimates vary widely on the number of households with firearms, but Gallup’s survey in 2005 put it at 42 percent. With roughly 150 million households in the U.S., that means that a gun is present in roughly 63 million households. Yet the number of murders committed by firearm in 2011, according to FBI statistics, was 8,583. That represents 0.0136 percent of all firearm-owning households. Murders by handgun came to 6,220, which makes that percentage 0.0099 percent. If guns caused murders, we’d be seeing a lot more murders. More than 99 percent of Americans seem to be capable of owning guns without committing murder, which demolishes the blame-the-gun argument

On CNN contributor Roland Martin’s podcast posted to his website Monday, Jason Whitlock, the columnist who inspired Bob Costas’ commentary on gun control during halftime of Sunday’s Dallas Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles game on NBC, revealed his peculiar take on the National Rifle Association (NRA).

“Sports gets so much attention, and people tune out the real world, that I try to take advantage of the opportunity to talk about the real world when sports lends itself to that and try to open people’s eyes,” Whitlock said.

“You know, I did not go as far as I’d like to go because my thoughts on the NRA and America’s gun culture — I believe the NRA is the new KKK. And that the arming of so many black youths, uh, and loading up our community with drugs, and then just having an open shooting gallery, is the work of people who obviously don’t have our best interests [at heart].”

Whitlock disagreed with the idea that gun ownership “enhances” liberty, explaining how — in his view — it damages society.

“I think it’s obvious if you’ve traveled abroad, and traveled to countries where they have  legitimate gun laws, that we don’t have to have what we have in America.. truer words were never spoken.

If you don’t want to hear the whole tripe against guns and football, move the video to around 2:00 for the NRA rant.

It isn’t surprising that these people are going to use this to push for gun control while neglecting to look at the role liberal policies might have played in the cheapening of life.

The first problem here is that Whitlock is stupid. There is little correlation between gun laws and murders. Colorado respects the rights of the gun owner. They are easy to purchase if you don’t have a criminal background, and you can carry them around and you can shoot someone who enters your house. Massachussetts has very strict gun laws, yet they have a higher murder and violent crime rate than Colorado.

Secondly, the NRA does not support “loading up our community with drugs, and then just having an open shooting gallery.”

The organization does support laws that prohibit criminals from buying weapons.

Moronic thinking like this is not nearly as shocking as the sad reality that millions of brain-dead Americans lap it up, nodding their heads stupidly and then regurgitating it to others.

I debated about this doing this post. In the end, this is the spew that we as whites don’t get to hear often. As you say when we do, many drink the kool regardless of any facts. Agitation is the purpose.

Who didn’t see this coming. The attacks on our Bill of Rights will only get more intense in Obama’s second term. I wish I could bring Mr. Martin here to Venezuela so he could see how well control really works (17,000 murders per year in country of 30 million). No doubt he would turn a blind eye to everything, but I sure like to leave him off in the inner-city and see how long it takes for him to get shot.
