U.S. Military to Block Popular Websites for Japan

This must have just been the best idea yet for Obama. See how easy it is to shut down the Internet Websites? Japan requests it… Sure they did!! No doubt this proves the necessity of FCC control. Oh wait, they don’t have the authority? Well, then who does?

The blockage will be of a temporary nature and may increase or decrease in the size and scope as necessary.

The U.S. military has blocked access to a range of popular commercial websites in order to free up bandwidth for use in Japan recovery efforts, according to an e-mail obtained by CNN and confirmed by a spokesman for U.S. Strategic Command.

The sites — including YouTube, ESPN, Amazon, eBay and MTV — were chosen not because of the content but because their popularity among users of military computers. Sure, I believe that. Sure I do. CNN

WH’s Carney To Tapper: “You Have Reporters In Japan”

Once again, the White House is clueless. I am looking forward to a nice dinner of Shrimp tonight as I rev up my Iodine load…just in case.

JAKE TAPPER, ABC NEWS: “What is going on over there right now? We have not heard the latest information from the NRC or the Japanese government and apparently there has been something that has happened in the last few hours.”

CARNEY, WH Press Secretary: “Well, it is clearly a crisis. There is clearly –”

TAPPER: “– what is specifically going on?”

CARNEY: “Again, I am standing here at the White House, I think you have reporters in Japan, you have reporters including ones here that could get the technical detailed information on what we know from the NRC, from the Department of Energy –”

“It’s up to the media, not the government?” Tapper asked in response to Carney dismissing his question.

“No, no I just referred to government agencies that can provide technical information…” Carney responded. Real Clear Politcs

DEA grabs Georgia’s Drug Used in Executions

Sounds like the DEA has too much time on its hands. The drug worked swell before, so why not give it another go? Any excuse for Obama to carry out his agenda. Any and all. Let me think…gee, I hope he won’t get cancer from an unapproved drug.

All Georgia executions are off after federal drug agents seized the state’s supply of a sedative used in lethal injections that has been challenged by capital punishment critics and death-row inmates, including a man recently executed who called the British exporter of the drug a “fly-by-night supplier.”

The drug was used in January to execute Emmanuel Hammond, a 45-year-old man convicted for the 1988 shotgun slaying of an Atlanta preschool teacher. His attorneys sought a delay to gather more information on how the state obtained the drug, claiming in court documents it came from a “fly-by-night supplier operating from the back of a driving school in England.” They said the drug could have been counterfeit.

The U.S. Supreme Court, as well as lower courts, rejected Hammond’s argument.

“The United States has strict drug import rules for a reason: To ensure drugs used for legitimate purposes are not adulterated, counterfeit, or diverted into the illicit market,” said Bentivoglio, who is representing death row inmate Andrew Grant DeYoung

The state’s stockpile came under more scrutiny in February when John Bentivoglio, a former deputy attorney general, asked the Justice Department to launch an investigation into whether state corrections officials violated federal law by not registering with the DEA when it imported its supply of sodium thiopental.
