Obamacare Subsidizing McDonalds and 337 Other Illinois Benefit Plans

Recall that Pelosi said we would have to pass the bill to see what is in it? Here are a few jewels. Where is the outrage?

From the Sun Times

A federal report shows employers in Illinois received nearly $41 million last year to help them maintain health care coverage for early retirees.

The federal funding comes from a program created by the Affordable Care Act, the national health care law. In Illinois, 337 employers have been accepted into the early retiree program.

From HHS

The Affordable Care Act creates a new program called the Early Retiree Reinsurance Program to help address this challenge that employers and older employees are facing. The Early Retiree Reinsurance Program provides $5 billion in financial assistance to employers and unions to help them maintain coverage for early retirees age 55 and older who are not yet eligible for Medicare.

HHS has approved the following sponsors from Illinois. More applications are being approved each day(!) List is here of those approved at the  Chicago Daily Observer

The Republicans need to start running for Prez and take this stuff on so it gets out there. Then he will have to respond.
