Obama selling Judgeships for Healthcare Votes?

The Weekly Standard is reporting that POTUS and his Chicago Thugs are  probably up to no good. Tonight- hosting 10 Democrats for what? W.S. reports, you decide. If this doesn’t finish the discussion of Obamacare, we are indeed lost. How many pieces of silver Judas? This and the Joe Sestack offer could be a “High Crime and misdemeanor”

Obama names brother of undecided House Dem to Appeals Court

Tonight, Barack Obama will host ten House Democrats who voted against the health care bill in November at the White House; he’s obviously trying to persuade them to switch their votes to yes. One of the ten is Jim Matheson of Utah. The White House just sent out a press release announcing that today President Obama nominated Matheson’s brother Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Consider Congressman Matheson’s record on the health care bill. He voted against the bill in the Energy and Commerce Committee back in July and again when it passed the House in November. But now he’s “undecided” on ramming the bill through Congress. “The Congressman is looking for development of bipartisan consensus,” Matheson’s press secretary Alyson Heyrend wrote to THE WEEKLY STANDARD on February 22. “It’s too early to know if that will occur.” Asked if one could infer that if no Republican votes in favor of the bill (i.e. if a bipartisan consensus is not reached) then Rep. Matheson would vote no, Heyrend replied: “I would not infer anything.  I’d wait to see what develops, starting with the health care summit on Thursday.”

The timing of this nomination looks suspicious, especially in light Democratic Congressman Joe Sestak’s claim that he was offered a federal job not to run against Arlen Specter in the Pennsylvania primary. Many speculated that Sestak, a former admiral, was offered the Secretary of the Navy job.

Press Secretary Gibbs has been asked repeatedly about who talked to him, and refuses to answer. If  it happened as Sestak says it did, it was illegal

Kid in the Control Tower Not as Bad as the Buffoon in the White House

Moonbattery had it right when they compared the seriousness of having a kid in JFK’s control tower to what Obama is doing to our country.  First of all, the boy sounded somewhat knowledgeable about his job role rather than the Liar in Chief does at the Whitehouse.

The media and FAA bureaucrats are having conniption fits because an air traffic controller in at New York’s JFK airport was heard conveying take off instructions to pilots.

I don’t understand the hysteria.

Since when, in America, are we supposed to be upset when an inexperienced, unqualified person is placed into a position of great responsibility? At least the kid isn’t running the economy into the ground and blowing up the National Debt.”

Your Day Feel Shorter? Blame Chile’s Earthquake

Calling Einstein? So our spinning top just tilted  a bit with the earthquake. So does time move faster? We grow older more quickly? So much to think about, so little time!

The earthquake that struck Chile was so powerful that it appears to have jolted Earth’s axis into a new position and increased our planet’s rotation speed.

Calculations by a research scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory indicate the earthquake shortened the length of a day on Earth by more than one-millionth of a second.

The U.S. space agency’s Richard Gross used a complex mathematical model to simulate the earthquake’s effect.  He estimates that our days are now 0.00000126 seconds shorter than they were last week. That’s 1.26 microseconds, or millionths of a second, and Gross says the change will be permanent.

Earth’s axis also was pushed about eight centimeters away from its normal position by the earthquake on Saturday – one centimeter more than the displacement produced by the mighty Sumatra earthquake of December 2004.

Nuclear Option for Healthcare- Remember when Dems said No?

Yes, recall the glorious days of yesteryear, when Dems said NO WAY~!

Who are Holder’s Seven Attorney’s? Fess Up!

Liz wants to know– we want to know, why are Al Quada Attorney’s now in the Justice Department.

This morning’s attack on Justice Department lawyers by Liz Cheney’s group Keep America Safe is provoking a bit of a backlash, including from a senior prosecutor who faced off with some of them over detainees.

“This is the typically regressive fear tactic that you expect from anybody named Cheney,” said Morris Davis, the former chief prosecutor at the Bush era military commissions, who has been a critic of the commission system. The group, Keep America Safe, and Congressional Republicans have targeted two well-known Justice Department appointees who worked on detainee cases in the Bush years and seven more unnamed lawyers.

Senators seek to block stimulus money for overseas

Just when my faith in the congress had diminished to be almost extinct, alas, an event occurs which confirms my previous opinion.” a majority of the program’s grants went to foreign-owned companies, and that a majority of the turbines purchased with the money were built by foreign manufacturers”. (And the Goricle is a major stock holder of the companies– but I digress)http://bigjournalism.com/kashiver/2010/02/14/why-does-the-msm-ignore-al-gores-global-warming-million/

WASHINGTON – A group of Democratic senators is urging the Obama administration to suspend an economic stimulus program aimed at financing renewable energy, complaining that money is going to projects that are creating jobs in foreign countries.

The four senators, led by Chuck Schumer of New York, wrote to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on Tuesday to request a moratorium on the Recovery Act program. They asked that the moratorium remain in place until they can pass legislation mandating stimulus aid flow only to projects which preserve and create U.S. jobs.

“A critical Recovery Act priority is investment in the domestic renewable and clean energy industry, not investment in foreign manufacturers,” the senators wrote in the letter, obtained Tuesday by The Associated Press. The letter, which will be disclosed at a news conference Wednesday, was also signed by Sens. Sherrod Brown of Ohio, Robert Casey of Pennsylvania and Jon Tester of Montana.

The lawmakers cited a report by the Investigative Reporting Workshop which found that a majority of the program’s grants went to foreign-owned companies, and that a majority of the turbines purchased with the money were built by foreign manufacturers.
