Clinton unable to name one achievement during her tenure

Wouldn’t you think by now Clinton could come up with some sort of achievement for an answer? There are a number of clips out there as she moves about peddling her book. Let’s focus on this one. If I thought I was sick of looking at Obama, Hillary and her faux smile is getting close to first place these days. I would say she avoided the answer. Maybe the interviews are not quite as friendly this time around?

Civil forfeiture laws – Guilty until proven innocent, a bonanza for public funding

We read about some of the abuses of Eminent Domain because the cases may affect Mom and Pop types. We hear less about asset forfeiture. The general opinion is the victims are drug kingpins, and we are often willing to look the other way. Since the IRS revelation and the realization what an out of control government can do, I suggest we pay more attention to this practice. This study which looked at Rhode Island found that most of the cases were not drug related.

From the Institute for Justice:

The smallest state in the Union can rake in big money from asset forfeiture. Since 2003, law enforcement in Rhode Island has hauled in $15.7 million using the state’s asset forfeiture laws.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Police departments across Rhode Island have seized millions of dollars in cash, cars and other assets in recent years using a common law enforcement practice that doesn’t require a conviction for the individuals involved in the case.

All told, law enforcement officials throughout the state hauled in nearly $15.7 million from 3,786 incidents since 2003 using the state’s asset forfeiture law, according to a Target 12 review of data obtained through multiple public records requests.

Paul King, chief of police in neighboring Pawtucket, said his department used forfeiture money to purchase six brand new marked police units “that we just didn’t have in our budget to buy, and our fleet needed it.”

“These assets have been a godsend to the department,” King told Target 12.

But most of the cases were not targeting drug kingpins. Between 2003 and 2013, the average value of forfeited property was $4,142. Almost 40 percent of these cases affected property valued at less than $1,000. Only 12 out of almost 3,800 incidents involved property worth more than $100,000.

But for individuals who have had charges dropped or dismissed, getting money or property back isn’t easy. One has to go back to court and start a civil suit.

Last year, 22 police departments seized more than $1.3 million from 306 incidents. But fewer than half of these actually led to a conviction. In fact, under civil forfeiture, the government can take property from people never convicted of a crime, or even charged with one. Only a handful of states (including, most recently, Minnesota) actually require a criminal conviction to forfeit property.

Google Executive promoting the idea of microchipping

Google’s executive gives away just what the company has in mind for the future. This is the same company who works hand in glove with the Obama regime.

Below is a video of  DARPA director and Google Executive Regina Dugan promoting the idea of microchipping humans.

Ask yourself, what if this becomes a requirement for authentication and identification? To withdraw money or go to the grocery store? Would you do it?

These microchips would be implanted under the skin, and allow the wearer’s movements to be tracked and store personal information about them. This kind of reminds us of George Orwell’s “Big Brother” police state doesn’t it?

According to a report drawn up by a team of academics for (then) Britain’s Information Commissioner Richard Thomas in 2006, within the next couple of years our almost every movement, purchase and communication could be monitored by a complex network of interlinking surveillance technologies (if it isn’t already). (2) This isn’t about safety and national security, it’s about controlling the human population even more so than it is today. We live in the illusion of freedom where our potential as a human race to create something better is not wanted. We spend our entire lives working and acquiring little pieces of paper to gather the necessities we need, and in doing so we become blind to what is really happening on, to, and around our planet. Many people are starting to wake up and realize a lot of the so called threats we face and have been facing are largely manufactured and fabricated in order to justify a specific agenda, agendas that deal with the black budget world

Move the video up to about 5 minute mark first., The beginning will become more clear how perverse these folks are afterward.

ERIC SCHMIDT, FORMER GOOGLE CEO:

“My view of Mr. Soros is that he is one of the most important people in the world today in terms of the impact he has had”.

“What we shared is a belief in changing the world from the bottom up, not from the top down.” Obama told Google employees during a 2007 visit to its headquarters in Mountain View, Calif.  (Didn’t Van Jones say something like that?)

Three reasons to be wary of Google Eric Schmidt, the former CEO, he is on the White House council for science and technology, co-chaired by John Holdren. Second point — they are working with hard-core leftists. Eric Schmidt is on the board of an organization called the Politics of Trust Network. You might recognize a couple of other names on that board like Van Jones, oh, and Drummond Pike, the former CEO and founder of the Tides Foundation. In 2010 the Google, Inc. charitable giving fund of the Tides Foundation gave over $145 million directly to nonprofits and academic institutions. Google has made donations in the seven figure range to Moveon.org. George Soros is doing that, too, one of farther left political action groups in America. They also gave money to the Trickle Up Program, a big recipient of cash from the Tides Foundation and George Soros’ Open Society Institute. And speaking of George Soros, here is Eric Schmidt saying this about George Soros. “My view of Mr. Soros is that he is one of the most important people in the world today in terms of the impact he has had”.

BLM on the move, seizes Texas Rancher’s land. No compensation

Don’t say we didn’t warn you. In a unreported story that was dumped on Good Friday, we told you this was coming.

Obama proclaims National Park Week – highlights sticking it to us by creating ‘monuments’

Keep in mind that a so-called monument can amount to millions of acres confiscated.

During my time as President, I have been proud to build on this tradition by establishing 10 new National Monuments. These sites honor American heroes from Harriet Tubman to Cesar Chavez. They conserve the diverse wildlife and rugged landscapes that reflect our character as a people. And just as our parks nourish our spirits, they bolster our livelihoods, attracting tourists to communities across our country and bringing customers to local businesses. For every dollar we invest in our National Parks, America generates 10 dollars in economic value. (Oh Please).

BLM Seizes Texas Rancher’s Land – Without Compensation

After Breitbart Texas reported on the U.S. Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) intent to seize 90,000 acres belonging to Texas landholders along the Texas/Oklahoma line, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott questioned the BLM’s authority to take such action.

“I am about ready,” General Abbott told Breitbart Texas, “to go to the Red River and raise a ‘Come and Take It’ flag to tell the feds to stay out of Texas.”

Gen. Abbott sent a strongly-worded letter to BLM Director Neil Kornze, asking for answers to a series of questions related to the potential land grab.

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart Texas, General Abbott said, “This is the latest line of attack by the Obama Administration where it seems like they have a complete disregard for the rule of law in this country …And now they’ve crossed the line quite literally by coming into the State of Texas and trying to claim Texas land as federal land. And, as the Attorney General of Texas I am not going to allow this.”

Abbott challenged the BLM director directly stating in his letter, “Nearly a century ago, the U.S. Supreme Court determined that the gradient line of the south bank of the Red River—subject to the doctrines of accretion and avulsion—was the boundary between Texas and Oklahoma. Oklahoma v. Texas, 260 U.S. 606 (1923). More recently, in 1994, the BLM stated that the Red River area was “[a] unique situation” and stated that ‘[t]he area itself cannot be defined until action by the U.S. Congress establishes the permanent state boundary between Oklahoma and Texas.’  Further, the BLM determined that one possible scenario was legislation that established the ‘south geologic cut bank as the boundary,’ which could have resulted ‘in up to 90,000 acres’ of newly delineated federal land.  But no such legislation was ever enacted.”

Navy SEALS ordered to remove Navy Jack patch from uniforms

Of course we know why they are doing this don’t we? Anyone who might stand in the way of this regime is a danger to it. Even a hint of a reminder. I find it particularly offensive when this regime goes after those who are willing to go to the front lines and give their blood for our country.  Why is the flag being removed?  “The Jack is too closely associated with radical groups.” We must assume that  this thought policeman embedded in the SEAL community is speaking of the Tea  Party, whose flag (which also dates from the American Revolution) depicts a  snake with the same defiant slogan as The Navy Jack. Recall this earlier post: We know of the indoctrination at our Academies:

West Point Think Tank warns of dangerous “Conservatives”

The report issued this week by the Combating Terrorism Center at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., is titled “Challengers from the Sidelines: Understanding America’s Violent Far-Right.” And just who are these “Violent Far-Right” folks?

It says anti-federalists “espouse strong convictions regarding the federal government, believing it to be corrupt and tyrannical, with a natural tendency to intrude on individuals’ civil and constitutional rights. Finally, they support civil activism, individual freedoms, and self-government. Extremists in the anti-federalist movement direct most their violence against the federal government and its proxies in law enforcement.”

The report also draws a link between the mainstream conservative movement and the violent “far right,” and describes liberals as “future oriented” and conservatives as living in the past.

“The far right represents a more extreme version of conservatism, as its political vision is usually justified by the aspiration to restore or preserve values and practices that are part of the idealized historical heritage of the nation or ethnic community.”

The Navy Jack is the ‘don’t tread on me’  flag, one that has earned a revered place in America’s naval history and a  beloved place in sailor’s hearts, through its use for over two centuries. This  symbol of America’s naval ferocity has spanned our country’s entire existence,  flying from the masts of the Continental Navy during the war of independence, to  today’s War on Terror. In fact, an amendment to the Navy code called SECNAV Instruction 10520.6 clearly  states that as of 31 May 2002 all ships are to fly the flag throughout the  duration of the War on Terror.

So why would ranking SEAL commanders ban the historical symbol? Is the  proverbial top bass banning the flag? Is President Obama?

Clearly the administration and sycophant “top brass” officers have degraded  America’s military prestige; from hand-tying rules of engagement, to uniform  regulations that make our military allegedly more compatible with foreign  forces, to the banning of an awe-inspiring flag that traces its roots to the  first U.S. Navy. We have a civilian-led military, but why should our ranking  commanders be complicit in the administration’s war on it? Why don’t they stand  up to Obama and his leftist cronies?

When a friend of mine asked his leadership the same question, he was told,  “The Jack is too closely associated with radical groups.” We must assume that  this thought policeman embedded in the SEAL community is speaking of the Tea  Party, whose flag (which also dates from the American Revolution) depicts a  snake with the same defiant slogan as The Navy Jack.

This begs yet another question: Who defines “radical group”? The last time I  checked, all military personnel are under oath to “support and  defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” The Tea  Party stands for constitutional rights and founding principles of civil  liberties and limited government. Radical? Not unless you’re a leftist hell-bent  on destroying the foundations of our country. Or as the President has stated as  the objective of his presidency, “to fundamentally transform” America.

Maryland Taxes Rain – as mandated by the EPA

Maryland Democratic Governor Martin O’Malley has instituted a tax on citizens for the amount of rain that falls on their property.

This goes to prove that elections have consequences. We were warned what the EPA had in mind to finish off our country. This will bankrupt our cities. The Maryland Dems are just going to do it the old fashion way, Churches and business goes first. Enforced by “surveillance”

Last October 2012 I ran a post EPA turns on the cities – Storm Water Tax coming our way.

The Wall Street Journal reports:

Behold the Obama Administration’s new public works plan. Sue cities for polluting waterways and then as part of a settlement require them to spend, er, “invest” billions in extraneous sewer improvements. The White House doesn’t even need legislation to pour this money down the drain. The Justice Department and Environmental Protection Agency have taken enforcement actions against 25 cities over the last four years for allegedly violating the Clean Water Act, and there are another 772 on their list. In addition to imposing millions of dollars in penalties, the feds have forced these cities into consent decrees that will cost their local taxpayers $21 billion. The decrees spell out in detail what capital upgrades they must undertake—everything down to the size of their pipes. The EPA says this extraordinary intrusion on local sovereignty is justified because cities are discharging waste into waterways during heavy rains. Many older wastewater systems include a safety valve that releases untreated stormwater and sewage into lakes and rivers when underground tunnels are flooded. This is to prevent waste from backing up in basements. The EPA has ordered cities to limit such wet weather overflows to four per year, regardless of how much rain they receive or how little muck they discharge. Many cities have already taken concrete steps to reduce such overflows by developing “green infrastructure” (i.e., permeable pavements, rain gardens, catch-basins) that soaks up and diverts stormwater. Such solutions are easier and less expensive to implement than reconstructing their underground systems as the EPA wants them to do.

Back to the Maryland Fiasco:

The tax, officially known as a “storm water management fee,” will be enforced in nine of the state’s counties. The state legislature passed it in 2012 purportedly to “raise revenue to cleanup [sic] the Chesapeake Bay,” according to MarylandReporter.com.

Former 2012 GOP U.S. Senate candidate Dan Bongino bashes the tax in a Wednesday afternoon press release. The law “requires individuals, businesses, and even charitable organizations and houses of worship to pay a tax based on the amount of rain that falls on their property and the ‘impervious surfaces’ on their land,” he says.

The tax, mandated by the EPA and enforced locally, will be calculated “through satellite surveillance of your property,” the statement claims.

Gun Control’s Trojan Horse to be voted on Thursday, April 11

The Senate’s top Democrat says he will force a vote Thursday on whether to open debate on tougher gun laws. Another monstrosity that does not come up through committees, without hearings.

What we do know, is that the ACLU has found enough to be concerned: ACLU attacks Reid’s Gun Law, cites Privacy and Civil Liberties.  One of the major concerns is the background checks that seem to be the most likely to pass. Presently, almost all information obtained in the check is thrown out in 24 hours. There is nothing proposed that would include this 24 hour provision. So your background check information could be retained forever thus by de facto be gun registration.

Under existing law, most information regarding an approved purchase is destroyed within 24 hours when a licensed seller does a [National Instant Criminal Background Check System] check now,” Calabrese said, “and almost all of it is destroyed within 90 days.”

“[U]nfortunately, we have seen in the past that the creation of these types of records leads sometimes to the creation of government databases and collections of personal information on all of us,” Calabrese warned. “

“As we’ve seen with many large government databases, if you build it, they will come.”
“And existing law also bars the use of those records for other purposes,” Calabrese continued, explaining that the government is supposed to be barred by the Privacy Act from transferring database information between agencies without the consent of the individual citizen.

Search as I may for any new information on the gun control bill , I found nothing. Nada. After listening to a rousing and stirring rant by Mark Levin on  the subject, the only thing I can offer is a Mark Levin archive of his program at his website done last night, and I encourage everyone who cares one wit about the subject, to listen to the first minutes, It can be found here for the date April 9, 2013. Scroll  down to audio rewind. 04/09 The Mark Levin Show

Here is a short clip to get you in the mood to hear the full thing:

WASHINGTON — A bipartisan deal seems imminent on expanding background checks to more gun buyers, an agreement that could build support for President Barack Obama’s drive to curb firearms violence.

Meanwhile, the Senate is ready for an opening vote on restricting guns as Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., set a roll call for Thursday on starting consideration of the firearms legislation. Odds are growing that Democrats will win enough Republican support to thwart an effort by conservatives and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., to block consideration from even starting.
