Egypt re-starting nuclear program

What could go wrong with leading from behind? It is a Sunday, a bit of time perhaps to go down memory lane with our Commander in thief, Hillary Clinton and our former friend Mubarak. But first the story:

As  North Korea has demonstrated, an impoverished, an impoverished, starving  population is no obstacle to a determined leader desiring nuclear weapons.   So now, Mohamed Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood President of Egypt, is committing  billions of dollars to re-starting the country’s nuclear program, a reactor that  could pave the way for nuclear weapons.

Yes,  nukes for the very same man who the US is supplying F-16 fighters to. The very  same man who leads a country that  is broke, where the foreign exchange reserves have dwindled to the point where  essential wheat imports for the staple, heavily subsidized bread that prevents  mass starvation for millions who could otherwise not feed themselves. Ariel Ben  Solomon of the Jerusalem  Post reports:

Earlier  this week, Egypt announced that it is seeking Russian assistance to revive its  nuclear program.

He  explains the possible motivations for this move:

It  seems to be a move by the Muslim Brotherhood-led government to solidify the  country’s position as a regional power,  as well as a way to improve relations with Moscow since Cairo has been facing  difficulties in getting aid from the International Monetary  Fund.

The  move could also be seen as a play to  increase Cairo’s leverage with the West so that it receives the aid it desires  without having to make too many concessions in  return.

On  the other hand, we also learn that:

Hamdi  Hassan, spokesman of the Brotherhood’s parliamentary caucus, said in 2006, “We  [Egyptians] are ready to starve in order to own a nuclear weapon that will  represent a real deterrent and will be decisive in the Arab-Israeli  conflict.”

John Brennan and other stupid things he said

Apparently I had my knickers in a knot several years ago regarding Brennan. I caught some of my “older” posts on John Brennan. I didn’t have much regard then, and even less now. As good as the hearings were on Benghazi, the Senators were ill prepared for this dude. He smoked rings around them, and was never called on his earlier statements and his apparent enthusiasm for Islam. And we want this guy to head intelligence? Apparently his early years spent in Egypt did as much for him as did Iranian born Valerie Jarrett  living in Iran.

First  John Brennan talks about his favorite city “al-Quds” and praises the Middle East for the freedom to practice your faith(?)

“I did spend time with classmates at the American University in Cairo in the 1970’s. And, time spent with classmates from Egypt, Jordan, Palestine from around the world who taught me that whatever our differences in nationality, or race, or religion, or language, there are certain aspirations that we all share. To get an education. To provide for our family. To practice our faith freely (huh?). To live in peace and security. And in a 25 year career in government, I was privileged to serve in positions across the Middle East… In Saudi Arabia, I saw how our Saudi partners fulfilled their duty as custodians of the two holy mosques at Mecca and Medina. I marveled at the majesty of the Hajj and the devotion of those who fulfilled their duty as Muslims by making that pilgrimage. And, in all my travels the city I have come to love most is al-Quds, Jerusalem where three great faiths come together.”

Other stupid things Brennan said:

Brennan decried the “ignorant feelings” of Americans outraged at the jihadi attacks on American soil. And then he told Shahin and the audience of Muslim students that he “was very concerned after the attack in Fort Hood as well as the December 25 attack that all of sudden there were people who went back into this fearful position that lashed out not thinking through what was reasonable and appropriate.”

It’s bad enough that John Brennan, President Obama’s national security deputy, thinks Gitmo jihadi recidivism is “not that bad.” But in his talk last week with Islamic law students at New York University, Brennan made even more reckless comments about our counterterrorism programs while pandering to one of the worst Muslim grievance-mongers and sharia peddlers in America.

During the question-and-answer session, Brennan welcomed a question from Omar Shahin. He identified himself as the head of the “North American Imams Federation.” What he didn’t mention was his role as the chief ringleader of the infamous flying imams. You remember them: They were the six Muslim clerics whose suspicious behavior — provocatively shouting “Allahu Akbar!” before boarding the plane, fanning out in the cabin before take-off, refusing to sit in their assigned seats, requesting seat-belt extenders, which they placed on the floor — led to their removal by a U.S. Airways crew in 2006.

As head of the Islamic Center of Tucson in Arizona (home to past jihadi dry-run plotters), Shahin preached that his followers must put Islamic sharia law above Western laws. He told the Arizona Republic that he doubted Muslims were behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks, concluding: “All of these, they make it up.” Brennan didn’t appear to know who Shahin was. Somebody around him should have briefed him. Shahin’s involvement in Hamas-linked charities and radical Wahhabi “youth groups” has earned the Jordanian-born naturalized citizen increased FBI scrutiny over the years. More from Michelle Malkin.

Christianity ‘close to extinction’ in places: An Islamic Victory?

Christianity faces being wiped out of the “biblical heartlands” in the Middle East because of mounting persecution of worshippers, according to a new report.

As we wind down this year and the season of holiday cheer comes to and end, it is easy to pass by one of the biggest stories that was under reported. That being the attack on Christianity throughout much of the world. Let us keep our brothers and sisters in our prayers. Here we go:

The study warns that Christians suffer greater hostility across the world than any other religious group.

And it claims politicians have been “blind” to the extent of violence faced by Christians in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

The most common threat to Christians abroad is militant Islam, it says, claiming that oppression in Muslim countries is often ignored because of a fear that criticism will be seen as “racism”.

The report, entitled Christianophobia, highlights a fear among oppressive regimes that Christianity is a “Western creed” which can be used to undermine them.

The “lion’s share” of persecution faced by Christians arises in countries where Islam is the dominant faith, the report says, quoting estimates that between a half and two-thirds of Christians in the Middle East have left the region or been killed in the past century.

“There is now a serious risk that Christianity will disappear from its biblical heartlands,” it claims.

The report shows that “Muslim-majority” states make up 12 of the 20 countries judged to be “unfree” on the grounds of religious tolerance by Freedom House, the human rights think tank.

It catalogues hundreds of attacks on Christians by religious fanatics over recent years, focusing on seven countries: Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, Nigeria, India, Burma and China.

State hostility towards Christianity is particularly rife in China, where more Christians are imprisoned than in any other country in the world, according to the report.

Obama: ‘The day I am inaugurated, Muslim hostilities will ease’

Democrats and Muslim ‘Jumah’ at South Carolina

Obama is counting on rounding up his base. Apparently, no group is unworthy of trying to catch some votes. Should make for a good photo-op. This is not an official Democratic sponsored event.

The Democratic National Convention is not commenting with the featured Islamic “Jumah” prayers for two hours on the Friday prior to its convention.Democrats earlier denied a Catholic cardinal’s request to say a prayer. UPDATE: He has now been invited and has accepted. Click to enlarge:

Up to 20,000 people are expected to attend the Friday prayers and Jibril Hough, a spokesman for the Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs (BIMA), said the purpose of the event is to hold political parties accountable for the issues faced by Muslim-Americans.

Robert Spencer speculates that the Democrat National Committee is simply so “in thrall to multiculturalism” that “few, if any” are even aware of the radical connections.

“To raise any concerns about such a speaker would be ‘Islamophobic,’ violating every rule of the anti-American, anti-Western ethos that prevails among so many Democrats today,” Spencer writes.

Siraj Wahhaj, the “Grand Imam” for the Jumah, is often considered a “moderate” because he was the first Muslim to give an invocation in the U.S. Congress, but as Robert Spencer notes, he has a number of troubling ties to dangerous radicals. In the early 1990′s the man reportedly sponsored talks by “the Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdel-Rahman in New York and New Jersey mosques, and told his followers that the United States will fall unless it “accepts the Islamic agenda.” Wahhaj was several years ago designated a “potential unindicted co-conspirator” in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

This sure sounds like a lot of fun.

Muslim Huma Abedin called by Obama an ‘American Patriot’

 Gal pal of Hillary’s Huma Abedin makes the news. While it will be easy to miss these “little” stories because of the Ryan nomination for VP, they are a reminder of what we are fighting for, and deserve the light of day. Huma, a Muslim with family ties to the Muslim Brotherhood big time, is honored by Obama. So here we go:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama on Friday called Huma Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, an “American patriot” after a group of Republican lawmakers accused her of having ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist political organization.

“She has been nothing less than extraordinary in representing our country and the democratic values that we hold dear,” Obama said at a White House Iftar dinner celebrating the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

“The American people owe her a debt of gratitude because Huma is an American patriot and an example of what we need in this country — more public servants with her sense of decency, her grace and her generosity of spirit.” [...]

Hillary Clinton signed a document less than one month prior to her trip to Saudi Arabia with Huma that lifted the ban on Tariq Ramadan, allowing him entry into the United States. (Ramadan is the grandson of the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hasan al-Banna, and has ties to Islamic terrorist groups.)

Was Huma Abedin — wife of Anthony Weiner and deputy chief of staff to Hillary Clinton — unaware that her mother was reported as a member of the Muslim Brotherhood? Did Western media miss what has been revealed in several Arab newspapers and left secret in American government circles?

Al-Liwa Al-Arabi (translated here) claims to have leaked an extensive list, partially published by Al-Jazeera and several other major Arab newspapers, that includes Huma’s mother, Saleha Abedin, in the Brotherhood’s secret women’s division — known as the Muslim Sisterhood or International Women’s Organization (IWO).

. Also confirmed by Arab sources is that Huma Abedin has a brother who works at Oxford University named Hassan Abedin. Oxford, which has long been infiltrated by Islamists who founded the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS), has Huma’s brother listed as a fellow and partner with a number of Muslim Brotherhood members on the Board — including al-Qaeda associate Omar Naseef and the notorious Muslim Brotherhood leader Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi. Both have been listed as OCIS trustees. Naseef continues to serve as Board chairman.

Liar Keith Ellison:’I don’t know a thing about the Muslim Brotherhood’

Weasel Zippers has an update on our fav Muslim, Keith Ellison, who lies like a rug about his radical muslim connections. Our government is being compromised to no end with these unfriendly folks, as we are foolish indeed to  disregard it. Especially when they sit at the highest levels.  I won’t even revisit Hillary’s gal pal Muslim Huma….who married a Jew, the Weiner pervert from NY….laughing myself silly about this one. As if Huma, whose family is ripe with top level radicals, would ever marry a Jew unless it was to be a subversive act.

….Rewind to 2008 when Keith Ellison went on a 16-day hajj trip to Saudi Arabia paid for by the Muslim American Society (MAS) to the tune of $13,500.

But a mountain of evidence of his contacts with and support of Muslim Brotherhood front groups – identified as such by the U.S. Government – shows that the Muslim Brotherhood definitely knows who he is.

But who is MAS?

Fortunately, federal prosecutors cleared up the matter back in December 2007 when they said in a court filing in the federal appeal of convicted terror operative Sabri Benkahla (page 58, footnote 13):

Muslim Congressman Andre Carson, “America Schools Should Be Modeled after Madrassa’s

America needs Muslims and Madrassas the man says. This is what is infiltrating our government. Actually, this is what we have elected. Now they are coming out of the closet.

Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN), the Muslim congressman who once said that the Tea Party would “love” to see black Americans “hanging on a tree,” made another controversial statement during a May 26 speech.

Speaking about the American education system, Carson told the audience that American schools should be modeled after Madrassas and touted the benefits of schools that use the Koran as their “foundation.”

Holder’s Muslim Brotherhood scandal no one is talking about

Holder continues to defy Congress, and here is one that is going unnoticed. There have been growing concern about the influence and infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood into our government. Try this post if you are interested is one example: Weiner’s in-laws and connections with the Muslim Brotherhood.

There’s another scandal you should know about. For over one year, he has refused to hand over documents about the Muslim Brotherhood network in the U.S. to Congress, but did turn them over to the defense team.

 Here we go:

“They are terrorists, and we wanted the documents you gave to the terrorists. We are a year later, and we still don’t have them,” complained Rep. Gohmert. Holder replied that he’d only provide what is already available publicly.

Rep. Gohmert is one of five members of Congress requesting investigations into the influence of Muslim Brotherhood-tied organizations and individuals in the U.S. government. As reviewed here, this influence is far-reaching. It is very possible that the documents from the Holy Land trial would be embarrassing to many government officials, not to mention businesses and interfaith groups that have embraced Brotherhood entities. At the very least, they could provide further justification for the labeling of CAIR, ISNA and NAIT as “unindicted co-conspirators.”

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), vice chairman of the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security, confronted Holder about the matter on Thursday, June 21. Rep. Gohmert wants Congress to have access to documents from the trial of the Holy Land Foundation, the largest terrorism financing trial in U.S. history. Five Foundation officials were found guilty of funding Hamas and evidence introduced by the federal government shows it was set up by the Muslim Brotherhood’s secret “Palestine Committee” in the U.S.

Three prominent Muslim-American organizations were labeled by the federal government as “unindicted co-conspirators” in the trial-the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT). The documents requested by Rep. Gohmert for the past year were provided to the Holy Land Foundation’s defense team, yet are being denied to Congress..”

Kuwait: “Apostasy Bill” Still Alive in Parliament

Remember when we marched in and saved those sorry folks in Kuwait? We gave lives and treasure to keep them “free” from Iraq. Here is the lesson. We are wasting American lives and our money in thinking the Middle East will not turn on us on a dime. But first we apparently must arm them.

Since Kuwait’s liberation, the United States has provided military and defense technical assistance to Kuwait from both foreign military sales (FMS) and commercial sources. The U.S. Office of Military Cooperation in Kuwait is attached to the American embassy and manages the FMS program. There are currently over 100 open FMS contracts between the U.S. military and the Kuwait Ministry of Defense totaling $8.1 billion. Principal U.S. military systems currently purchased by the Kuwait Defense Forces are Patriot Missile systems, F-18 Hornet fighters, the M1A2 main battle tank, AH-64D Apache helicopter, and a major recapitalization of Kuwait’s Navy with U.S. boats Wikipedia

The bill, which “stipulates that Muslims who are convicted of cursing God, the Qur’an, any of the prophets or the wives of Prophet Mohammad will be punished by death or life in jail,” was just rejected by the emir. But a 2/3 vote in its favor from parliament — where it originated — will make it law.

“Kuwait emir rejects apostasy death-penalty bill,” from Al-Shorfa, June 7:

Kuwaiti emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah has refused to sign a bill passed by parliament stipulating the death penalty for major religious offences, AFP reported Thursday (June 7th).

The government returned the bill to parliament on Wednesday following the emir’s rejection. Al-Sabah has the power to reject bills passed by the elected assembly, but parliament can override the decision by resubmitting the bill with a two-thirds majority among its 49 members and 16 cabinet ministers.

The bill, passed by parliament last month, stipulates that Muslims who are convicted of cursing God, the Qur’an, any of the prophets or the wives of Prophet Mohammad will be punished by death or life in jail.
