ABC “Exclusive” – DHS dumped bus loads of Terrorists in U.S.

The headline reads “Exclusive: US May Have Let ‘Dozens’ of Terrorists Into Country As Refugees” this by no less than ABC news. How about doing a program on the Visa nonsense going on, allowing thousands of potential terrorists to come our way? Yes indeed, an exclusive. Of course, many of us bloggers have been warning of this for years. But hey, the MSM is starting to catch on. Good interview video link at the bottom of post.

Several dozen suspected terrorist bombmakers, including some believed to have targeted American troops, may have mistakenly been allowed to move to the United States as war refugees, according to FBI agents investigating the remnants of roadside bombs recovered from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Iran links in Homeland Security’s troubled immigration program

December 15, 2013 — bunkerville

A program that gives coveted immigrant green cards to wealthy foreign  investors was so susceptible to fraud and abuse that it was used by an Iranian  network that sought to send banned high technology home and spread terrorism  abroad, federal investigators said.

The memo called the EB-5 program a weak point in the nation’s immigration  security because visa holders can become green card holders and eventually  citizens — without going through the background checks that most prospective  immigrants face. The program is designed to attract foreigners who pledge to  invest in the U.S. economy.

But let me not digress!

The discovery in 2009 of two al Qaeda-Iraq terrorists living as refugees in Bowling Green, Kentucky — who later admitted in court that they’d attacked U.S. soldiers in Iraq — prompted the bureau to assign hundreds of specialists to an around-the-clock effort aimed at checking its archive of 100,000 improvised explosive devices collected in the war zones, known as IEDs, for other suspected terrorists’ fingerprints.

“We are currently supporting dozens of current counter-terrorism investigations like that,” FBI Agent Gregory Carl, director of the Terrorist Explosive Device Analytical Center (TEDAC), said in an ABC News interview to be broadcast tonight on ABC News’ “World News with Diane Sawyer” and “Nightline”.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if there were many more than that,” said House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul. “And these are trained terrorists in the art of bombmaking that are inside the United States; and quite frankly, from a homeland security perspective, that really concerns me.”

As a result of the Kentucky case, the State Department stopped processing Iraq refugees for six months in 2011, federal officials told ABC News – even for many who had heroically helped U.S. forces as interpreters and intelligence assets. One Iraqi who had aided American troops was assassinated before his refugee application could be processed, because of the immigration delays, two U.S. officials said. In 2011, fewer than 10,000 Iraqis were resettled as refugees in the U.S., half the number from the year before, State Department statistics show.

DHS: Fend Off Shooter With Scissors

Just in case you haven’t caught this, I will pass this alone. No need for guns, its back to Duck and Cover from the 1950′s including a scissor. Oh the scissor. Most of them these days they are made of plastic, but what the heck, it sure beats a gun. How much did DHS pay for this? They really think we are this stupid don’t they. Here we go.

Options for Consideration demonstrates possible actions to take if confronted with a active shooter scenario. The instructive video reviews the choices of evacuating, hiding, or, as an option of last resort, challenging the shooter. The video also shows how to assist authorities once law enforcement enters the scene.

New Fema Corp advertising for new ‘Brown Shirts’?

While we were sleeping, are they getting ready for the Gulag?   Just asking. Volunteers who will be paid, no conscription yet.

We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” Barack Obama, 2008

Homeland Security has announced the creation of a new FEMA corps to tap volunteers (who will be paid for up to 18 months) for disaster/emergency responses. The program is a partnership between FEMA and the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), itself managed under the Homeland Security umbrella.

The Department of Homeland Security plans to start with 1,600 volunteers dispatched across the country and specially trained to provide “critical disaster services” during an emergency response. Volunteers are not FEMA employees, but will wear branded uniform clothing and will be directed by FEMA.

Q: Will FEMA Corps Members have identifying clothing?
A: Yes, but joint branding methods have not yet been determined.

Q: Are FEMA Corps Members able to drive owned/leased FEMA vehicles?
A: Yes, as determined by mission requirements.

Q: What type of Identification will FEMA Corps Members have?
A: They will be issued the Legacy Badge. Specific badges are still being designed

DHS boasts that the entry level positions will prepare these trainees for careers in the ever-bloating disaster response bureaucracy.H/T: Prison Planet

DHS Giving $2.1B in ‘Preparedness Grants’ to Cities, Indian Tribes, Non-Profits

Don’t you just love these grants? Yet funds are being slashed for the Coast Guard to patrol our Borders. Better yet, have them tasked with working on “Global Warming”. I went through a couple of posts last year to point out the deft skill Janet has displayed in making security decisions. Better to give out money. Actually, it is the only skill set this Administration really has.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on Wednesday announced that her department has allocated more than $2.1 billion to 12 “federal preparedness” grant programs for Fiscal Year 2011.

From 2002 through 2011, more than $32.1 billion has been awarded in preparedness grants to help strengthen and protect the homeland. CNS News

Here we go in our “Way Back” machine:

The Obama administration will announce today it has slashed anti-terror funds for New York City, despite the attempted Times Square bombing less than two weeks ago that underscored the enormous threat to the city.Read more: More at New York Post

Meanwhile: Obama guts Homeland Security- mainly NYC

Big Sis- Cutting the Coast Guards elite team that patrols our ports.

At a recent hearing, Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), ranking member on the committee, said she was shocked that the Obama administration’s budget for the Department of Homeland Security for fiscal year 2011 cuts funding for the U.S. Coast Guard while asking for $200 million for security for the Sheikh Mohammed trial.

When asked by ranking minority leader Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) why the DHS budget spends money on securing the trials of terrorists in the U.S. while cutting funding for U.S. Coast Guard, Napolitano defended the Obama administration’s stance on the matter.

Collins said “Decommissioning part of the Coast Guard’s 13th elite maritime security safety teams that protect waterfront cities makes absolutely no sense given the threats to our ports,” Check Out: Coast Guard wants to slash homland Security

In the memo, Papp said he wants to eliminate teams that are trained to respond to and prevent terror attacks. These teams also train other Coast Guard forces on counterterrorism operations.

“In view of the fiscal horizon, we must make bold and systematic strategic decisions,” Papp wrote in the memo, dated Nov. 10, 2009. Obama.

The memo, marked “sensitive — for internal Coast Guard use only,” was obtained by The Associated Press.

He also calls for cuts to the Coast Guard’s largest homeland security operation, which patrols critical infrastructure and other sensitive security structures on or near waterways. And he would decrease the number of specialized units stationed in key coastal areas where an attack could be devastating.

Obama has already proposed closing five of the 12 specialized units in 2011.

Papp’s outline is significant because it could mean major changes for the more than 200-year-old agency that took on substantial homeland security duties after Sept. 11, 2001. Obama’s 2011 proposed budget cuts for the Coast Guard have already caused outrage from some lawmakers. News Max

DHS strips Coast Guard of Border Security, but will now do Global Warming

“She is creating a new department under Homeland Security called the Climate Change and Adaptation Task Force, which will be tasked with “identifying and assessing the impact that climate change could have on the missions and operations of the Department of Homeland Security.”

Janet Napalitano: “Many USCG [Coast Guard] and Customs and Border Protection facilities, by their mission, are located in the coastal zone which will be adversely impacted by sea level rise.  Costs will increase for protecting existing facilities from the impacts of sea level rise and some facilities might have to be abandoned in the longer term.” What assistance can the Coast Guard bring to bear to assist remote villages in, for example, Alaska which already have been negatively affected by changes up in the Arctic?” CNS News

Obama decrees: DOD, DHS Agencies fulfill Environmental Justice

You wonder why we are broke? Why we have lost our Credit Rating? The redistribution of wealth has taken a new turn this week. This Marxist empty suit is determined to bankrupt us. What do all of these agencies have to do with “Green”? Defense? Homeland Security? Who is this man to take our Nation off the cliff?

Though it is unrelated to their mission, the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, Commerce and Housing are among the federal agencies that will focus on helping minorities get green under an Obama Administration plan that aims to bring “environmental justice” to poor and underserved communities nationwide.

Earlier this week we reported U.S. Navy going Green.

By 2020, the Navy must learn to get at least 50 percent of energy from alternative sources, and 50 percent of the military vessels will have to try hard to zero out- that is to spend no more energy than they can produce

This week the agencies signed an official Memorandum of Understanding on Environmental Justice outlining some of their new duties. Under the agreement the agencies will make environmental justice part of their mission and they will provide the public with annual progress reports on their efforts. In a written statement, the Obama Administration proclaims that it’s the latest effort to address the inequities that may be present in some communities.

The organizations that receive U.S. tax dollars reportedly teach black, Latino and indigenous folks how to recycle, reduce carbon emissions through “weatherization” and participate in “green jobs” training.

The effort was launched by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) last fall and the agency has doled out millions of dollars in “environmental justice grants” to dozens of leftwing groups, including some dedicated to helping illegal immigrants. Earlier this year the administration dedicated an additional $7 million to study how pollution, stress and social factors affect “poor and underserved communities.”

TSA Research Proposal To Body-Scan Pedestrians, Train Passengers discovered

Those Aussies are even doing us one better. I am sure when Janet catches this, the next step for us.

Australia will be trialling x-ray scanners at airports that can provide a crisp image of a persons insides.  Aussie scanners can see those heroin-filled condoms you swallowed.

Australian customs found 60 pounds of drugs inside the bodies of travelers last year, now legislation is before the Federal Parliament that would allow customs officers to use these new body scanners to view all objects beyond folds of skin instead of sending drug-smuggling suspects to hospitals for internal X-rays ordered by a doctor. More here  No World System/

One project allocated to Northeastern University and Siemens would mount backscatter x-ray scanners and video cameras on roving vans, along with other cameras on buildings and utility poles, to monitor groups of pedestrians, assess what they carried, and even track their eye movements. In another program, the researchers were asked to develop a system of long range x-ray scanning to determine what metal objects an individual might have on his or her body at distances up to thirty feet.

Giving Transportation Security Administration agents a peek under your clothes may soon be a practice that goes well beyond airport checkpoints. Newly uncovered documents show that as early as 2006, the Department of Homeland Security has been planning pilot programs to deploy mobile scanning units that can be set up at public events and in train stations, along with mobile x-ray vans capable of scanning pedestrians on city streets.

The projects range from what the DHS describes as “a walk through x-ray screening system that could be deployed at entrances to special events or other points of interest” to “covert inspection of moving subjects” employing the same backscatter imaging technology currently used in American airports.

The 173-page collection of contracts and reports, acquired through a Freedom of Information Act request, includes contracts with Siemens Corporations, Northeastern University, and Rapiscan Systems. The study was expected to cost more than $3.5 million.

Radical Muslim Cleric smuggled into U.S. Through Mexico

When is enough going to be enough?

I just could not resist snagging this one..after a post we just did,…guess who just came through…  Recall Janet’s comment: Those who say border is out of control are trying to score political points

Speaking at the University of Texas at El Paso, Napolitano hailed the administration’s Southwest Border Initiative for strengthening the border “in a way that many would not have thought possible.”Yes, Janet, so true.

She also described in detail the administration’s “smart and effective approach” to enforcing immigration laws throughout the country.

A radical Muslim cleric banned from two different countries snuck into the United States through Mexico, affirming several reports that Middle Eastern terrorists regularly enter the country through the porous southern border.

The Tunisian imam (Said Jaziri), who has an international criminal past, paid $5,000 to get smuggled across the border near San Diego, according to a local newspaper that says it all went down just a few weeks ago. Jaziri only got caught because firefighters in the area tipped off the U.S. Border Patrol after they saw him and a Mexican man get into a car trunk in a renowned smuggling pickup area.

Incredibly, a growing number of Islamic extremists like Jaziri are slipping into theU.S. through Mexico. Just a few months ago a veteran federal agent announced that The U.S. Border Patrol has captured thousands of people who have been classified as OTM (Other Than Mexican) along the 2,000-mile southern border and many are from terrorist nations like Yemen, Iran, Sudan, Somalia and Afghanistan. The feds call them SIAs (Special Interest Aliens) and the government doesn’t want Americans to know about them.

This has been going on for some time. In fact, in 2007 the top Homeland Security official in Texas confirmed that terrorists with ties to Hezbollah, Hamas and Al Qaeda had been arrested crossing into the state through the Mexican border. A few years ago the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) revealed details of how Islamic terrorists and violent Mexican drug gangs have long teamed up to successfully penetrate the U.S. as well as finance terror networks in the Middle East. WikiLeaks: Hill is the Vill

It use to take a village but wow how things have really gone global.  The WikiLeaks fallout hitch Hillary to the mantle of ‘Villain’.   Right now she is bearing the brunt while Obama lingers in the shadows  as in his usual mode of disaffected watcher.  In the meantime the fall out goes on.  But just what will be the results?  In the words of Rahm Emmanual, just wait “You never let a serious crisis go to waste.”

The demons and the damage done:

-> Government officials tell us that Assange’s act  poses a threat to our national security by undermining America’s foreign policy. One may as well ask: What foreign policy? As American Thinker puts it, this just proves what we know: so-called leaders and politicians are liars, schemers, crooks, egomaniacs, and incompetents. Obama is more of threat to our national security than Assange will ever be.  The media will keep us focused on Assange though away from the details of what Obama is currently doing to us.

-> Calls for Clinton to resign..maybe Obama helped WIKI on purpose to get rid of Hillary as a primary contender?  If he didn’t he certainly must find the situation to his benefit.

-> Provides the Department of Homeland Security with a  security breach to use as an excuse to shut down the internet or limit internet capacity.

Comrade Matrix wonders; “When is WikiLeaks going to leak the list of people with special interests who give them money to selectively leak?”

More important than what is released is who bears the brunt.  Looking behind the leaks is far more interesting than just calls for Assange’s head.

P.S. Assange even says Hilliary must go!

Janet Napolitano will be able to pull the plug on the Internet?

They want to pass this bill by the end of the year? You bet– no congressional oversight. Just what our Commander in thief would love. Knocking off the bloggers for four months. Janet? She is the one to pull the plug after all this nonsense in Arizona.. please.

Under the new draft bill, which is a combination of the two versions originally crafted by Senators Joe Lieberman and Jay Rockefeller, Janet Napolitano’s DHS will be handed broader authority to determine how to handle potential cybersecurity threats.

Senate Majority Harry Reid has put the measure on his list of top-priority bills to get through the Senate this year,” sources told MoneyControl.com.

Lieberman’s version of the original bill includes language that would hand President Obama the power to shut down parts of the world wide web for at least four months with no congressional oversight. The combined version appears to shift that responsibility to DHS, who under the pretext of a national emergency could block all Internet traffic to the U.S. from certain countries, and close down specific hubs and networks, creating an ominous precedent for government regulation and control over the Internet.

An expanded role for Homeland Security would be somewhat ironic given the fact that the DHS itself recently failed an extensive cyber-security audit conducted by the agency’s own Inspector General.

“The DHS US-CERT office is currently plagued by at least 600 vulnerabilities that could compromise sensitive data, including 202 which have been classified as high-risk,” reported TG Daily.

Homeland Security’s failure to adequately secure its own internal network will lead to questions about why the agency should be given vast new authority to secure America’s cyber assets and the public Internet.

New Mexico will have armed deputies traveling with Department of Agriculture inspectors

Remember when Janet Napolitano said this:

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Tuesday the U.S.-Mexico border is not as secure as it could be, though she contended that the Obama administration has shown an “absolute laserlike focus on that border.”

Yet  New Mexico will, for the first time, have armed deputies traveling with New Mexico Department of Agriculture inspectors.

Luna County Sheriff Raymond Cobos said that beginning on July 26, deputies will accompany inspectors to the scales in a corridor that stretches southwest from Interstate 10 at Las Cruces to the New Mexico-Arizona border, along Luna, Hidalgo and Grant counties.

“It also helps the deputies become more familiar with the ranches and their particular layouts,” Cobos said. “It’s a benefit to all of us.”

Cobos, who will coordinate deputies from the three counties, said the deputies will work overtime to accompany the inspectors and will be paid via federal assistance from Operation Stonegarden, a Department of Homeland Security program that gives 14 states along the border flexibility to use grant funding to enhance coordination among state and federal law enforcement agencies.

“It’s a safe way of providing their personnel with protection so they don’t encounter a situation that would imperil the equipment or their lives,” Cobos said. “It’s a relatively small cost to prevent a tragedy.”
