Christianity ‘close to extinction’ in places: An Islamic Victory?

Christianity faces being wiped out of the “biblical heartlands” in the Middle East because of mounting persecution of worshippers, according to a new report.

As we wind down this year and the season of holiday cheer comes to and end, it is easy to pass by one of the biggest stories that was under reported. That being the attack on Christianity throughout much of the world. Let us keep our brothers and sisters in our prayers. Here we go:

The study warns that Christians suffer greater hostility across the world than any other religious group.

And it claims politicians have been “blind” to the extent of violence faced by Christians in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

The most common threat to Christians abroad is militant Islam, it says, claiming that oppression in Muslim countries is often ignored because of a fear that criticism will be seen as “racism”.

The report, entitled Christianophobia, highlights a fear among oppressive regimes that Christianity is a “Western creed” which can be used to undermine them.

The “lion’s share” of persecution faced by Christians arises in countries where Islam is the dominant faith, the report says, quoting estimates that between a half and two-thirds of Christians in the Middle East have left the region or been killed in the past century.

“There is now a serious risk that Christianity will disappear from its biblical heartlands,” it claims.

The report shows that “Muslim-majority” states make up 12 of the 20 countries judged to be “unfree” on the grounds of religious tolerance by Freedom House, the human rights think tank.

It catalogues hundreds of attacks on Christians by religious fanatics over recent years, focusing on seven countries: Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, Nigeria, India, Burma and China.

State hostility towards Christianity is particularly rife in China, where more Christians are imprisoned than in any other country in the world, according to the report.

Reporter slams State Dept on silence over Israel

A “Spirited exchange between an Associated Press reporter and spokesperson Victoria Nuland marked the U.S. State Department’s daily briefing Monday on the continued violence between Israel and Hamas”, so the tag reads. If only we had a similar exchange at WH briefings. Fast and Furious, Benghazi to name a couple. Maybe this can be an example of what the press can do to regain some respect, self-respect as well. While some diplomacy always goes on behind the scene, it is the man/woman on the street that it has to made clear to, we will support Israel. Now we hear that Hilary is heading over the Middle East to cast her spell. The same woman who with Susan Rice, and Samantha Power were behind this whole nasty destabilization of the region – Here

Obama thanks Egypt – earlier that AM, Morsi threatened Israel

Here we have an example of our foreign policy savant, Obama. Apparently he missed this briefing. Morsi prefers the demise of Israel. If we think we can keep buying off these countries to support our agenda, think again. 192 countries exist in the world, we give aid to 150.

But then again, what is our agenda in the Middle East?

Obama has  effectively destabilized the region. Jordan is next, that is for tomorrow’s post. Over one billion of our bucks each year to Egypt will not cut it for long. Here we go:

Not only did Morsi threaten Israel but they crowd he was speaking to started chanting about killing Jews . . . and Obama thanks him for it.

(Reuters) – U.S. President Barack  Obama called Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi on Friday to commend the country’s efforts to help calm the situation in Israel and Gaza and underscored his hope of restoring stability there, the White House said.

Egypt’s prime minister, Hisham Kandil, has said Cairo is prepared to mediate a truce in the growing violence between Israel and Hamas, the Islamist group that runs the Gaza Strip. Egypt’s government is allied with Hamas, but is also party to a 1979 peace treaty with Israel.

Previously:

Egypt will continue to support Gaza against continued attacks from Israeli armed forces, President Mohamed Morsy reiterated on Friday.

“The price will be high if the aggression continues,” Morsy said after he performed Friday prayers in Fatma Al-Sharbatly Mosque in Cairo’s Fifth Settlement.

“Egypt is different from yesterday,” he added, referring to his predecessor ousted President Hosni Mubarak’s soft stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict.

“We assure them [Israel] that the price will be high for continued aggression, and [we tell them] you have to bear the responsibility,” Morsy continued.

During Morsy’s speech, worshipers chanted: “Khaybar, Khaybar, Oh Jews, the army of Mohamed will return,” in reference to a historical battle fought between Muslims and Jews in Saudi Arabia.

“I say to those on behalf of all the Egyptian people that Egypt today is different from yesterday, and Arabs today are different from yesterday. I say confidently that Egypt will not leave Gaza alone,” Morsy said.

Abbas offers to release Hamas Terrorists to form Unity Deal

Looks like everything is on track for Obama in the Middle East. I am at a loss as to why Americans and American Jews in particular, are not outraged at what is going down. The intent is destroy Israel. It is clear.

As part of its latest list of incentives, the PA offered to place between 15,000 and 20,000 of Hamas’ forces in Gaza on official PA salary if Hamas joins in a unity government.

“The Obama administration’s abandonment of (U.S. ally President Hosni) Mubarak in Egypt sent a big sign to the moderate Arab world that we can no longer depend on American support,” said the official.

The official further argued that popular sentiment on the Palestinian streets dictates the PA must orient itself away from the U.S.

JERUSALEM – In a desperate bid to sign a unity government with Hamas, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has offered to release from prison scores of terrorists responsible for attacks against Jews, WND has learned.

The PA is funded and armed by the U.S.

Earlier this month, WND reported the PA has been engaged in an intense effort to convince the Hamas terrorist organization to join it in a new unity government.

According to a senior PA official, the PA has been sending mediators to Hamas in an effort to persuade it into a unity deal.

Ex-CAIR official sentenced to prison

Why no sooner had we posted our story Cair which supports Hamas, applauded by Whitehouse, then we find this gem today. Earlier Valerie Jarrett had nothing but praise for CAIR.

CAIR, of course is interested in  a “campaign to reshape children’s opinions“. Ifyou think this is going to stop with bullying, think again. So now we have Eric Holder and the DOJ monitoring kids over bullying, and let us have CAIR reshape our children’s opinions. We have doubled down. Recall earlier this week?  Feds tell Schools they must spy on kids, even at night

Perhaps we might have one week when the stories that will determine the fate of our Nation will receive the attention She so desperately needs. There are those in the White House who are either naive or treasonous.

A former Council on American-Islamic Relations official will serve more than a year in federal prison for violating U.S. sanctions against Iraq, according to a Justice Department spokesman.

The FBI in 2008 charged Muthanna al-Hanooti with conspiring to work for a foreign government and with making false statements to FBI agents. On Friday, the former CAIR regional director was sentenced to serve one year and one day in a U.S. prison during a federal court hearing in Detroit. Prosecutors had sought a sentence of 46 months.

Al-Hanooti’s home was raided by FBI agents, who also searched the offices of his front group, Focus on Advocacy and Advancement of International Relations, which al-Hanooti operated out of Dearborn, Mich., and Washington, D.C. FAAIR claims to be a consulting firm raising awareness of Sunni Muslim grievances in Iraq, butinvestigatorssay it’s a front that supported the Sunni-led insurgency in Iraq

The FBI alleges Mohammed al-Hanooti, an ethnic-Palestinian who also emigrated from Iraq, raisedmoneyfor Hamas. In fact, “al-Hanooti collected over $6 million for support of Hamas,” according to a 2001 FBI report, and was present with CAIR and Holy Land Foundation officials at a secret Hamas fundraising summit held last decade at a Philadelphia hotel.

US ‘may not veto UN resolution on Jerusalem’

Our only ally in the Middle East, and POTUS would sell them out to his Arab League buddies? Apparently the Jewish Community remains committed to this absurd, arrogant and narcissistic man. This only emboldens those who would destroy Israel.

The US is considering abstaining from a possible UN Security Council resolution against Israeli settlements in East Jerusalem, sources suggest to the BBC.

The reported exchange between the US official and Qatar’s foreign minister came to light during a meeting at an Arab League summit in the Libyan town of Sirte.

A diplomatic source told the BBC that Qatar’s Foreign Minister, Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasim Al Thani – who is also the prime minister – had recently met an official high up in the Obama administration during a visit to France.

The possibility surfaced at talks in Paris last week between a senior US official and Qatar’s foreign minister.

The official said the US would “seriously consider abstaining” if the issue of Israeli settlements was put to the vote, a diplomat told the BBC.

US officials in Washington have not confirmed the report.

There are no concrete plans at present to table such a resolution at the UN.

But it is likely that the US is considering how to maintain pressure, and a UN resolution would be one way, says BBC state department correspondent Kim Ghattas. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8591714.stm

Code Pink invites Muslims “Join us in cleansing our country”

Thats our girl- front and center once more!

Fresh on the heels of their Hamas-protected trip to Gaza, the so-called feminist, American antiwar group Code Pink, co-founded by top Obama funder Jodie Evans, is running banner advertisements on the English language version of the official Web site of a terrorist sympathizing group, the Muslim Brotherhood, one of which invites the Muslim Brotherhood to “join us in cleansing our country.”

The ad, titled “Arrest the War Criminals” with a subhead that contains the invitation to “join us in cleansing our country” links back to a Code Pink site that calls for the kidnapping of former President George W. Bush, his wife Laura and other former members of his administration through ‘citizens arrests’ for defending America against terrorists in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks by Al Qaeda.

The Jawa Report first reported the advertising in a post this morning (January 11, 2010).

Hamas bans women dancers – and scooters too

It is stunning how the women’s groups remain silent on the steady march of the Islamic movement to put women back into the stone age. Where is the outrage? Have we forgotton the Afghan women in their Burkas? The video of the Isalmic women receving public beatings? A woman shot in a soccer field?

Besides keeping women from being tempted with hellfire and damnation, the progressives in Hamas have also banned…folk dancing! Apparently, Palestinian folk dances are quite suggestive – if you’re an Islamist nutcase, that is.

The government’s Islamic Endowment Ministry has deployed Virtue Committee members to preach at public places to warn of the dangers of immodest dress, card playing and dating.

The opening of the Palestinian Heritage Museum on Oct.7 was meant to include a rendition of the dabke, a line dance performed by girls and boys. Except that no girls were allowed.

Black-shirted men from Hamas carrying AK-47s appeared at the gates of the museum, on Gaza’s waterfront, said Jamal Salem, the curator. They said girls shouldn’t dance because it wasn’t religiously proper. Nor could they share the stage for the inaugural speeches, said Salem.

And just how is Israel suppose to deal with this?

It will be interesting to see if Obama mentions once, the odious oppresion of the Afghan women. From our earlier posting:

Have we forgotten the oppression of the women? Have we no caring that we would turn back the clock and allow the Taliban once more to abuse them in the most hideous manner? Condemn them to Sharia Law? To appeal to  Karzi’s conservaties during the recent election, Karzai re-instituted many of the earlier sub-human treatments of women, including forcing women to remain in their homes.

Check out our earlier post: Have we fogotton the Afghan women for a trip down memory lane.http://bunkerville.wordpress.com/2009/10/13/have-we-forgotton-the-afghan-women/
