Bloomberg to restrict Pain Killers at Hospitals

While laying fallow these many days with who knows what illness, I looked forward to my returning debut as a blogger, healthy enough to be able to find some news that may have gone under the radar. So here we go. A story that sums up all that we are fighting for. The government loses its senses, and morphs into a dictatorship. Here is a prime example why we must not allow, cannot allow any form of restriction on our guns, and Ammo. Yes Ammo. Let me get to the point. If a non-physician can dictate the amount of pain medication one can receive, just think what we have in store for gun control, Obamacare, any of our freedoms. So I give you Mr. Bloomberg, who heralded the banished Big Gulp, now moving on to pain medication.

“The city hospitals we control,” he said Friday in
response to critics, “so … we’re going to do it and we’re urging all of
the other hospitals to do it, voluntary guidelines. Somebody
said, oh, somebody wrote, ‘Oh then maybe there won’t be enough
painkillers for the poor who use the emergency rooms as their primary
care doctor.’

According to Bloomberg, the over prescribing of
painkillers has led to a rise in violent crimes as well, as no-goods
have been hanging around pharmacies to ambush patients.

“You see there’s a lot more hold-ups of pharmacies, people getting held up as
they walk out of pharmacies. What are they all about? They’re not trying
to steal your shaving cream or toothpaste at the point of a gun. They
want these drugs.”

Of course, the city could allow people to carry
guns to defend themselves, but that would be too easy and would allow
people to be responsible for themselves.

Much better to ban medicine. Besides, where’s the fun of electing a liberal mayor if you
can’t leave sick people writhing in agony? Soda Head

Mayor Michael Bloomberg is a total control freak. NYT reports:

Some of the most common and most powerful prescription painkillers on the market will be restricted sharply in the emergency rooms at New York City’s 11 public hospitals, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg said Thursday in an effort to crack down on what he called a citywide and national epidemic of prescription drug abuse.

This is just the beginning. Bloomberg isn’t the only politician who will be tampering with healthcare. Under Obamacare politicians will be following Bloomberg’s lunacy nationwide. The injection of politics into medicine is the worst idea in the history of government. Allowing the Leviathan of government into the practice of medicine has produced nothing, but disaster and human suffering.

Death rates from cancer have skyrocketed in Great Britain. Patients in Canada flee the socialized medicine there and run to the U.S. to obtain competent and professional treatment when they need it. The same can be said for the wealthy all over the world who require top notch treatment, but America has thrown it all away because it will be “free.”

You will not be able to keep your doctor, you will not be able to even get some of your medicines, you will not get treatment in a timely fashion, and worst of all politicians will be playing doctor with your health care decisions.

We have been paying taxes into this program to front load it so that it looks like it will not have a large impact on the Federal budget. We are now 20 trillion in debt due to deficit spending. How much more do you think that the debt will grow because we will continue to spend ourselves into oblivion courtesy of the new healthcare laws?

The largest government expense for those with socialized medicine is healthcare. In fact, healthcare expenses even outstrip defense expenditures. Nations in Europe are going broke because of socialized medicine and we just had to have it because we apparently like the DMV involved in our healthcare decisions.

Did I mention that 1/3 of practicing physicians plan to leave the field when about 10 million new patients show up looking for treatment? How long do you think it will take you to see a doctor then? How will you fight the Bloomberg’s who insist that they know more about medicine than those with an M.D. degree?

We have sown the wind and we shall reap the whirlwind.

P.S. Hope you feel better Bunker

Thanks for stopping by and your wishes. Glad to hear you are out and about blogging. For some reason I thought you had taken a respite. Those of us in healthcare know the drill and what you say is so true.

Jeeeeeeeebus, just when you think Bloomberg couldn’t be anymore of a douchey little tin god, he gleefully proves you wrong.

You bought the ticket on that third term, Big Apple. Enjoy the ride.

As one who lives in chronic pain, I can say with certainty that Bloomberg has no clue as to what living in pain is like. Of course, he cannot even begin to imagine the realities that those of us “on the ground” face every single day of our lives — while he dwells in his oligarchical ivory tower.

Sorry New Yorkers , but you best haul your behinds to a red state if you want to enjoy what few freedoms there are in America.

This is similar to the gun control issue. Because there are a minority criminals and mentally ill people who abuse the use of guns, the government wants to punish all gun owners instead of dealing with the criminals and the mentally ill. Now because a minority of people and doctors abuse pain killers, the government wantts to retrict the use of these drugs to people in pain instead of dealing with unscrupulus doctors and drug addicts.

I hope you are feeling better, Bunker. Sounds like that flu bug is a real bad one!

These politician think they know better than the doctors what we need for medical purposes and that is a scary thought. I think this is a trial run for Obama and Obamacare and the rationing we know is coming.

Mayor Bloomberg is tyrannical nut job that simply needs to fade away. What about people suffering from terminal cancer. I know my own father would have been in such terrible pain if not for his pain killers. This guy is a moron.
