Leave Paula Deen Alone!!

OK, so I get up early, and turn on that wretched MSNBC with Morning Joe, and even more wretched Mika Brzezinski. Her rant on my poor Paula.  Oh, the wages of sin with Paula. Once the drumbeat begins, there will be no mercy for my Paula. She will be marched off the plank into the flames of food hell. How dare we enjoy a meal that is not composed of fruits and vegetables? How dare we enjoy butter which by the way, it is up for grabs how bad it is for us compared to margarine. Our palate must learn to adjust to “salt free”. Civilizations have fought over this very edible substance. So here we go, I say let us all eat cake and whatever else pleases our palate. In moderation of course!

 New York Times:

What’s more, she had waited three long, greasy years since her diagnosis to come out. (Is diabetes like being gay)? During that period, she promoted the deep-fried life without acknowledging her firsthand experience of how a person can be burned by it.

That’s the kind of thing that made me consider some past put-downs of Deen elitist. After all, she isn’t alone in exhorting people to pig out. She’s just unusually cornmeal-crusted, saucy and bewigged about it.

The problem with Paula Deen is that she has lied to her supporters not once but twice, first by promoting her “down home cooking” as if those words give some magic credence to the health factors of her food and then by attempting to fix her lifestyle choice with a magical pill which she stupidly assumes will fix all of her problems and the problems of people who live her “down home  lifestyle” Inquisitr

12,000 U.S. troops arrive in Libya?

UPDATE: It appears that this story is false, although is has been acknowledged we have “some” U.S. forces in the area.

Anyone surprised about this? If anyone thinks that the oil will keep heading our way, or rather to Europe, think again. Calling Mr. Boehner, calling Congress, calling the GOPers, how about giving this a little attention before we descend into World War III?? I have been reading about our having troops in Libya, World Net Daily picked this up, so here goes. How about the State Department denying it if not true? It has been reported that troops are stationed in Malta.

Times of Malta  :

UPDATE:The US Embassy in a single line statement this morning reiterated the Maltese government’s statement categorically denying claims that there are US troops in Malta.

The United States has sent some 12,000 soldiers to Libya, in the first phase of deployments to the oil-rich North African nation.

According to Asharq Alawsat, the troops landed in the eastern oil port city of Brega.

Although the deployment is said to be aimed at generating stability and security in the region, the troops are expected to take control of the country’s key oil fields and strategic ports.

Brega, the site of an important oil refinery, serves as a major export hub for Libyan oil. The town is also one of the five oil terminals in the eastern half of the country.
Following the popular uprising of the Libyan people, NATO launched a major air campaign against the forces of the former regime on March 19, 2011 under a UN mandate to “protect the Libyan population.”

The Western military alliance, however, was heavily criticized for its failure to protect civilians and taking action beyond the terms of the UN mandate.
