What do I find most despicable about Progressives? It is their hypocrisy. As a self-proclaimed Socialist, Alan Colmes, he fits the bill to the tee. Often these so-called kind folks are portrayed as the last bastion of caring for the poor and oppressed, and a savior from the cruel, heartless GOP folks. I will not recite the litany of past progressives/Socialists/Communists and their impact on the billions of unsuspecting humans. But for a refresher, let us visit this clip of Alan at his best.
The The Daley Gator has a beautifully written take on this at his place, and as he said, and I quote:
Liberal commentator Alan Colmes made a strong bid to end his undistinguished career Monday, during a Fox News segment in which he and Rich Lowry of National Review discussed Rick Santorum’s surge in the Iowa polls. Colmes mused that people would bail on the former senator from Pennsylvania once they “get a load of some of the crazy things he’s said and done, like taking his two-hour-old baby when it died right after childbirth home and played with it so that his other children would know that the child was real.”
Colmes faced off with National Review editor Rich Lowry, he responded to a question on whether or not undecided voters will truly stick by Santorum when it’s time to cast a vote.
Lowry cut off Colmes, calling the statement “a cheap shot.”
“To take something that is that personal and that hurtful as losing a child and mocking it like that … that is beneath you, Alan,” he said. “What you’re saying is contemptible.”
It is about a minute in when the dust up begins.
UPDATE: The Santorums slept all night in the hospital with Gabriel, then took him home so that his brothers and sisters could meet him. The bond between the family and their lost child became the subject of a deeply personal book, Letters to Gabriel, authored by Karen Santorum. Mother Teresa wrote the forward. Alan Colmes should try reading it, instead of spending all day welding his brain shut with garbage from far-left blogs. D.G.now has a clip of Santorum’s response to Colmes.
