As we prepare for the coming year that is filled with both hope and promise as well as anxiety regarding the future of our great nation. I found this clip from Ronald Reagan, The video is less than stellar, but it is the words of Reagan as only he can tell the tale. I hope you find it inspirational. You may have to click on “watch on you tube”.
Stung by a surging Tea Party movement, liberal Republicans and Democrats associated with Hillary Clinton are privately planning to form a “centrist” third party in time for the 2012 election.
I had been hearing bits and pieces about “Americans Elect”, a third-party effort, and did not pay much mind about it. Last night, I changed my mind. For the first time I got to hear what the real deal is with them. Now that they are qualified in key States to be on the ballot as a third-party, they are positioned to cause much mischief and could easily tip the balance. They are presenting themselves as the party that will be composed of candidates to be named, that will be able to work with our dysfunctional congress as great compromisers. They gleefully pointed out last night all that we know is the GOP’s Achilles heel. We appear to be in disarray. The fact that they are so far along, working in stealth mode, supported by unnamed sources should be enough for us to pay attention. I encourage you to read the whole thing, and keep an eye out on this one. Here we go:
Not happy with your choices for president of the United States in 2012? Feeling angry at both Republicans and Democrats? Rejoice! There will be a third party alternative. A well-funded non-profit called Americans Electis hard at work getting qualified for ballot access, and taking aim at all 50 states.Americans Elect has already qualified to be on the ballot in key swing states of Florida, Ohio, Michigan, and 10 others including California. Apparently funded by wealthy hedge fund managers, the organization expects to qualify for ballot access in every state, and to hold an online primary election in April to select its candidates for president and vice-president. Voters can register on-line to vote in the primary.Full story at Floyd reports
It turns out that the latest omnibus spending bill that no one read is just filled with more good news, Obama plans on not abiding by the bill he signed.
This isn’t just a matter of choosing how to interpret unclear provisions of a law;this is explicitly refusing to abide by clear-as-day provisions in a law he just signed. As I have written repeatedly, this man has dangerously authoritarian tendencies. He is a menace.
Expose Obama has a good breakdown of the temper tantrum our fearless leader is having. Slide over to the The Washington Times piece to get a feel of the arrogance of our despot.
Emily Miller of The Washington Timesreports that Obama plans to violate the $1 trillion omnibus spending bill he signed on Friday. Instead,he issued a signing statement that he and Eric Holder’s Justice Department believe the bill is “subject to well-founded constitutional objections.” (Here’s the text of the statement.)
What are they? That Congress has asked to be notified if U.S. troops are placed under foreign command. It does not ban the practice of placing U.S. troops under foreign generals;it simply requires that Congress be notified beforehand. Expose Obama gives you the why of Obama having his knickers in a knot over this.
The bill —which Obama signed —defunded four of his nine czars. Zero-funding these offices,Obama wrote,“could prevent me from fulfilling my constitutional responsibilities.”
Altogether, these acts,Obama writes, represent “constitutionally impermissible forms of congressional aggrandizement.”Why am I laughing myself silly??
And for those of us who are having our own temper tantrum and threatening to walk away from our Rhino to be, do you really want more of this? Do you think four more years of this is better?
So much for Newt’s Notes years ago. Now this video shows up. As of 2008 he was well on board. From Buzz Feed
Newt Gingrich has had a hard time attacking Mitt Romney’s Massachusetts health care plan — which, like “Obamacare” — required all citizens to have health care. What’s more — as The Wall Street Journal reports today — Gingrich actively praised Romney’s plan. And in this newly-unearthed video from a Gingrich speech to the Alegent Health Clinic in June 2008, Gingrich did much more than defend the mandate: “I think you gotta require that everybody have insurance or post a bond,” he said. To be able to afford insurance and not buy it, he said, is “immoral.” Isn’t the Internet great? At least Romney doesn’t lie about it.
Newt Gingrich, in a 2008 appearance at Alegent Health Clinic in Bellevue, Nebraska, expresses strong support for an individual mandate.
Could UFOs be hostile? Might they invade, attack an American city and leave it powerless with countless casualties? How should injured aliens be treated? UPDATE It looks like the story is a bit of a stretch as the book can be purchased at Amazon or Barnes & Noble it appears, but if a local ABC station picked it up, why not me. Always looking for the absurd and asinine
I am sure glad to hear that Janet and company are preparing us for the coming UFO attack. Lucky Fire Officers who will be on the front lines. It would seem to be a bit more important that we protect ourselves from the Mexican alien invasion, but then what do I know The video is an ABC new report. From: Before it is news :
These are some of the issues raised in Chapter 13 of FEMA’s 2011 600-page disaster guide manual: The Fire Officer’s Guide to Disaster Control. Chapter 13′s astounding title?—“Enemy Attack and UFO Potential.”
The chapter discusses how firefighters and other emergency responders may have engine trouble as they approach alien craft. Radio contact may be lost. Firefighters may find themselves having to treat injured aliens…and the chapter goes on from there.
What is with the laziness business? Below the post is a video of Obama accusing Americans being lazy. I cannot find the full video of the ABC video clip that includes Barbara Walters interview this past week where is says he is lazy, but just a comment that the portion I did find, he evades the question of whether they celebrate Christmas. In the video I have included, Obama and his wife share their contempt among other things for us, including our laziness.
President Obama said that his worst personality trait was “laziness,” the byproduct of a youth on the sun-soaked beaches of Hawaii, in an interview with ABC’s Barbara Walters set to air Friday.
“Deep down underneath all the work I do, I think there’s a laziness in me,” Obama said, according to an interview excerpt obtained by the National Journal. “It’s probably from growing up in Hawaii, and it’s sunny outside. Sitting on the beach.” the Hill
For the second time in as many months, President Obama has taken the nation that elected him president to task for its own lackadaisical economic performance on the global stage.
Obama told a group of CEOs today that the United States has gotten “lazy” and that America lost its hunger in promoting itself in a global marketplace.
“We’ve been a little bit lazy over the last couple of decades. We’ve kind of taken for granted — ‘Well, people would want to come here’ — and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new businesses into America,” he told the CEOs who are gathered on the sidelines of the annual Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings, which the United States is hosting this year in Hawaii.
Last September, in an interview with an Orlando, Fla., TV station, Obama made similar remarks, saying, “This a great, great country that had gotten a little soft and we didn’t have that same competitive edge that we needed over the last couple of decades. … We need to get back on track.”ABC News
“For to us a child is born,
to us a Son is given,
and the government will be on His shoulders.
And He will be called
Wonderful, Counselor,
The Mighty God,
The Everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace.”

I am going to re-gift this post from last year with a bit of a different spin. It seems that Santa, Rudolph and his boys better keep an eye out when they pass over Al Gore’s place Better yet, Santa, you just leave a big ole lump of coal - that’s right, I said COAL in Al’s stocking. …Merry Christmas! Here we go! The headline reads:
Castration helps reindeer handle climate change
Researchers say they forage for food better, then share it Just what the Progressives love! Share the wealth!
The indigenous Sami peoples in the Arctic have found a way to help reindeer survive the ravages of climate change—but we’re guessing the deer don’t like it too much. Fluctuating temperatures have been a challenge for the reindeer, because melting snow often refreezes and forms ice over the pastures they feed on. Sami researchers have found that castrating male reindeer allows them to more easily break the ice, in part because they keep their antlers later into winter.
It also makes the males more likely to share their food with calves that would otherwise starve to death. “To make herds more resilient in the future, we need to relearn the traditional knowledge of castration,” one professor tells Reuters. Ouch!
Specifically, they’re aiming for “half-castration,” which renders animals sterile, but able to produce testosterone. More at Newser Now that sounds a lot better!!
As most of us know, we own less and less, and the government owns and controls more and more of what we think of is rightfully ours. Here is a bizarro story. Now the government is claiming ownership over rainwater. You can bet Obama and the EPA must be grinning from ear to ear when they heard this story.
Control of water in the West has been a big issue with the drought. But now, we no longer control the rainwater that falls on our roofs.
Check out this YouTube video of a news report out of Salt Lake City, Utah, about the issue. It’s illegal in Utah to divert rainwater without a valid water right, and Mark Miller of Mark Miller Toyota, found this out the hard way.
After constructing a large rainwater collection system at his new dealership to use for washing new cars, Miller found out that the project was actually an “unlawful diversion of rainwater.” Even though it makes logical conservation sense to collect rainwater for this type of use since rain is scarce in Utah, it’s still considered a violation of water rights which apparently belong exclusively to Utah’s various government bodies.
Access to the rainwater that falls on your own property seems to be a basic right, wouldn’t you agree? H/T: Before it is news
ABC has a neat quiz for us to try, and to help us figure out which candidate best matches up with our opinions. I can’t vouch for the accuracy, but it was interesting to take, and did help focus on the issues. I am leaving the link “as is” as some folks hesitate to do the linking thing without knowing where it comes from. Have fun:
