Oh swell. Looks like China is moving in and setting up shop here in the USA. Ecnomic Zones? Well, maybe finally we can say “Made in the USA”! This should make our Maoist President very very happy.
One of these “special economic zones” would be just south of Boise, Idaho and the Idaho government is eager to give it to them. China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach for short) plans to construct a “technology zone” south of Boise Airport which would ultimately be up to 50 square miles in size. The Chinese Communist Party is the majority owner of Sinomach, so the 10,000 to 30,000 acre “self-sustaining city” that is being planned would essentially belong to the Chinese government. The planned “self-sustaining city” in Idaho would include manufacturing facilities, warehouses, retail centers and large numbers of homes for Chinese workers. Basically it would be a slice of communist China dropped right into the middle of the United States.
According to the Idaho Statesman, the idea would be to build a self-contained city with all services included. It would be modeled after the “special economic zones” that currently exist in China.
If the Chinese have their way, we will soon be seeing these “special economic zones” pop up all over the United States.
So exactly who is “Sinomach”?
The following description of the company comes directly from the website of Sinomach….
With approval of the State Council, China National Machinery Industry Corporation (SINOMACH) was established in January 1997. SINO-MACH is a large scale, state-owned enterprise group under the supervision of the State Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.
As you can see, Sinomach is basically an arm of the Chinese government.
The borrower is always the servant of the lender, and now China is buying up America.
The reality is that Sinomach is not looking only at Idaho. Sinomach is in discussions to develop “special economic zones” all over the United States.
Sinomach has recently dispatched delegations to Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania to explore the possibility of establishing “special economic zones” in those states. Full story and Hat Tip : Before it is news

AN IDAHO-CHINA UPDATE
Hoku Corp., a subsidiary of Tianwei New Energy Holdings Co, a Chinese company, has invested $270 million of the more than $400 million it expects to spend on its Pocatello plant to manufacture polysilicon for the solar market.
All of the polysilicon will be shipped back to China.
Idaho’s exports to China for the first three quarters of 2010 were $506 million, a 35 percent increase over 2009. Overall, Idaho imports rose to $3.8 billion from $2.7 billion in 2009. Idaho had $3.9 billion in three quarters in 2008.
The Idaho Regional Center, a company developing the Gold Hill Mine near Placerville and Blackhawk on the River near McCall, has millions of dollars in escrow from Chinese investors awaiting approval of green cards from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Once approved, the money will be released and the gold processing plant is expected to go into production, said Sima Muroff, head of the regional center.
Several other regional centers have started in the state. They allow investors a chance to get green cards in exchange for investments of $500,000 to $1 million.
The InvestIdaho Regional Center is expected to make an announcement next week. Two others, Idaho EB-5 Regional Center and the Idaho Global Investment Center in eastern Idaho, are organizing

Is anyone here military? In my experience this looks sounds and seems like an underhanded somewhat stealth version of a beach head. If the Chinese are able to establish self sustaining centers all over the country that would give them the ability to strike from anywhere within the without warning. 10,000 to 30,000 communist Chinese loyal to their government and its wishes strategically placed all over the US? Think about it in attack and assault terms. Scary shit. Am I now going to leave one war zone for fear of coming home to another?

I’m all for selling a green card for a million dollars-as opposed to handing them out like halloween candy like we do now. The self sustaining city though? importing cheap labor? They couldn’t find Idahoans for the job? How much of America is still America? How much land, buildings, natural resources, ports, etc. are still American owned? I think we would all be stunned by the truth.

It sounds real. If they’ve got the cash, fine, let them build it. What I am dead set against is the importation of foreign workers. We already got enough of those as it is.
I also don’t like the idea of top investors being rewarded with US visas. This stinks. I’d like to hear more details.

Two uranium mines in Wyoming are on their way to control by a Russian company now that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has approved transferring the mines’ licenses.
The NRC last week approved the license transfer to a Russian company known as ARMZ which expects to obtain a controlling interest in Canadian-owned Uranium One by year’s end. Uranium One holds the licenses for a proposed uranium mine and an existing uranium mine in northeast Wyoming.
The transfer raised concern from Wyoming’s congressional delegation, who said the uranium could in theory go overseas and serve against U.S. interests.

Brian says the story is true and that state and local politicians are supporting the plan. Unfrigging believable. A self sustaining Chinese Communist enclave in America. The benefits to Idaho are minimal at best.
